So as you may have read I traded off the motorcycle.Well I got a Teg GSR for it.......not very good shape the interior for the most part is completely dissassembled. missing most windows, except for front windshield. The motor is good and it came with a nice set of sparco's. Here is pictures:

local://upfiles/6755/3651510637A446A281240B70FA630B5C.jpg

So now I have to ask someone who has done the B-series swap, what doI need to buy as far as mounts go? by the way here is a picture of the sparcos in the civic

Nice motor, what happened to the rest of the car?

Fiirkan
07-18-2007, 05:16 PM
Everything you need is in that car as far as i am aware

sandrider123
07-18-2007, 10:43 PM
well for those who can help me its a 97 GSR. I need to know if I will need to purchase any mounts?

jeff948594
07-18-2007, 11:01 PM
if you dont mind me asking, how much did that car cost u? its a b18c1 i beleive so aslong as u stay b series u need no engine mounts, but it wouldnt hurt to put some upgraded ones in there. are you going to find a teg in a junkyard and get all your missing peices or is this gonna be a track car?

ej6buddy
07-18-2007, 11:08 PM
i'd just fix up the teg, but it makes since to utilize the parts off the car. you could do the gsr swap and you could use the gauge cluster and fit it in yours. nice find though.

sandrider123
07-18-2007, 11:19 PM
So the plan is I am going to swap the GSR motor into the civic, So what all do I need I will be changing from my D16 to this B18C1. After the swap I am going to put a B18B back into the teg and turn it into an automatic and then give it to my sister for her 16th b day. So will someone tell me what I need?

ej6buddy
07-18-2007, 11:37 PM

So from what I am understanding I need:

Rear tranny mount from an si?
Driver side mount from an si?
And an A/C bracket from a del sol?

Is that it everything else I can pull out of the integra?

mxs
07-19-2007, 07:58 AM
you also need a power steering pump out of a 99-00 Si.
you will use the axles and shift linkage out of the integra

FlipHKD720
07-19-2007, 10:54 AM
man i'd just fix up the Teg....but the Civ is gonna rip:) good luck on the swap, you'll also need the ECU for the swap

mill$civic
07-19-2007, 02:03 PM
I hope it was a good trade, that sure looks like a fix-er-up-er

sandrider123
07-19-2007, 11:38 PM
Well I feel that it was a good trade 2- wheeled death wish for something to better the civic by alot.

So going on the fact that all the stuff out of the teg is good these are the parts I need to acquire?
Rear tranny mount from an si
Driver side mount from an si
And an A/C bracket from a del sol
Power steering pump from an si

Is that it?

ej6buddy
07-19-2007, 11:51 PM
depends on if you currently have powersteering or not (of course)

sandrider123
07-19-2007, 11:56 PM
I have power steering yes. and I want to keep it. So are those the parts I need?

ej6buddy
07-20-2007, 12:01 AM
those are the main ones, there will be other small things that will come up. how many miles on the motor? might be good to go ahead and replace the timing belt, water pump, and maybe a new thermastat. i believe the gsr radiator hoses will fit.

sandrider123
07-20-2007, 08:47 AM
Actually I already have timing belt and waterpump on the way, along with a new clutch.Someone should put this in the HCF project section becasue well Im for one putting a GSR motor in the civic then I am completely restoring the integra.

ej6buddy
07-20-2007, 09:45 AM
just contact a mod, and they will move the thread, and change the name of the thread to like civic/gsr build up

tht intergra has a lot of potential. and at least it came with some nice set of rims and seats[8D]

sandrider123
07-20-2007, 05:18 PM
Well I have been working on the car all day came in for some pizza and beer, my girl will be here to take more pictures shortly. So my sister is not sure if she wants the teg so if she does not my mom said she would take it so either way I am going to fix the teg back up. Depending on how this one goes I might buy another one next year and do it again. So as of two days ago project civic GSR is underway. So is there anyone else on the forum witha EK with a GSR swap?

ic892003
07-20-2007, 05:41 PM

sandrider123
07-20-2007, 11:54 PM

basbal123
07-21-2007, 08:24 AM
did you need to ask someone that had a gsr'd ek a question or something or did you already figure it out?

Well I just finished pulling the motor out of the teg so now its time to get it all looked over and checked out make sure its ready to go into the civic. And replace a few things. Here are some photos from tonight

ej6buddy
07-21-2007, 11:04 PM
starting the swap, and finishing the swap are the most satisfying

sandrider123
07-21-2007, 11:45 PM
So here is a random question if I were to buy a header for this would I need to buy an SI header or GSR header?

SuBlime_4_LiFe
07-22-2007, 01:31 PM
GSR header

basbal123
07-22-2007, 05:41 PM
ya anything that deal with the actual motor has to be for that motor

ej6buddy
07-22-2007, 05:44 PM
b16a and gsrs have different head ports

sandrider123
07-22-2007, 09:13 PM
So I know I am working rather slow, today I split the tranny and motor today, Didnt get pictures though. Though my lady did. I might have to steal some from her. Anywaise right now I am looking at clutch kits for the motor.

DEANEKCIVIC
07-23-2007, 06:59 AM
from what ive heard in the past should just be straight forward no knew mounts needed

sandrider123
07-23-2007, 07:33 AM
Well today I start working back on the farm which means this project is going to slow down all I will be doing for a while will be working on the farm. We should see the motor in the car in about a month from now.

basbal123
07-23-2007, 10:37 AM
hey its better to take your time and do it right rather then doin it quick and having troubles in the future

sandrider123
07-23-2007, 09:44 PM
Not only that but then I might be able to buy some performance parts before I out it in like a nice set of skunk2 cams maybe? Dc sports header as well.........

sandrider123
07-24-2007, 10:48 PM

07-26-2007, 10:44 PM
So after a long discussion tonight it has been decided that were not going to keep the integra. As there is so much work involved in restoring it. so that means were going to part it out so everyone keep your eyes on the For sale section. I am taking the rear brakes off of it as well and fitting the civic with a set of rear discs. So pretty much though my car is a civic, underneath it will be all GSR:)

BX_Civic
07-27-2007, 08:24 AM
Sounds like your going to have one hell of a civic.

Good luck with the rest of the car.

07-27-2007, 10:34 AM
sounds good, that will deffinatly be a nice civic, any other mods to the engine planned?

good call. I didn't think that could possibly be worth the effort

sandrider123
07-27-2007, 10:44 PM
I do have other mods on my "want" list but my "need" list needs to be taken care of first. Alot of it depends on how much I can get for the shell of the teg and my summer wages and what college is going soak me for this year.So I have about two more weeks til I am done driving tractor so the real progress will begin.

07-28-2007, 01:06 AM
nice project going. looks like alot of fun..

sandrider123
07-30-2007, 11:27 PM
So today I was told that I need to take the throttle cable off the integra and pull the harness out of the firewall to do the swap, is this true?I mean i figured you only needed to do something like that if you were changing from like OBD1 to OBD2. Since I am taking a OBD2 motor and putting it in an OBD2 car it should just be plug and play right? can someone please shed some light on this I need to know ASAP as I have started parting out the integra.

Also I am going to go with an aftermarket flywheel and clutch. I have a clutch picked out but now I am also wanting to know who the best brand for a flywheel might be? I am thinking Fidanza, but that leads me to my next question how light should I go with? I mean I want it rev faster but I am not wanting it to fall out of the power band every time I shift.

sandrider123
08-06-2007, 07:59 AM
Well I sold the integra today, so I got a few pictures of it right before it left so here you go. Enjoy.

A few pictures with it sitting by the civic waiting for its trailer to come.

is your Civic a 5-speed, EX?

sandrider123
08-06-2007, 08:19 AM
yes 5 speed ex

mxs
08-06-2007, 08:29 AM
You'll use your stock engine harness. The Integra harness doesn't work in 96-00 civics because it's not one piece. The Civic harness runs through the firewall. You will need to add wires for the IAB (if you're using the stock GSR intake manifold).

The gsr cme with a b18 series block, from that you can do anything, lookfor the heads, rods, pistonsfrom other B series engines whether DOHC or Sohc, the blocks are different, a dual block wont take a single head, and find one that wil give the amount of compression you want, maybe some vtec too. Remember lower compression allows more boost with turbo systems. I would rebiuld the engine completely, there are plenty of articles on the bseries, plenty of parts. Integras are so sought after because you don't have to swap engines for that extra 30 hp or 50 hp, which means more money towards other things like the brake upgrade, good idea... especially since you want more hp, gotta be able to stop right...good luck

08-11-2007, 11:11 PM
Well I got home today and the parts I have been ordering are slowly starting to get here today my Energy shifter bushings got here, thanks to remmy's advice. Anywaise I am still waiting to be done driving tractor for the summer to get paid and start buying my other good stuff

Well My clutch came today. Remmy suggested centerforce but after a long discussion with horsepower freaks I decided to go with a spec alot of it had to do with my bad knee. But anywaise it was a long talk becasue we were discussing other stuff to;). Joe knows what it is lol. Anywaise hopefully come sunday we start seeing some major progress.

So today is my last day of my first summer job then im taking a week off from work and then going to my next so yes I am hoping to have it done by next week that is my goal.

sandrider123
09-03-2007, 09:59 PM
So today I completed the brake swap on the rear, well sort of I still have to take the rotors off and get them turned and replace the pads in the calipers. But they are mounted along with th bigger MC and power booster. Anywaise here is some more pictures from today and yesterday. Also the timing belt is done along with everything but the clutch so tomorrow I am taking the flywheel in to get turned so I can put the clutch on and start dropping the motor in the car. Anyewaise here are pictures:

I made her sit through just swapping my headlights an grill and it only took like 45 minutes tops and she complained the whole way through. So props to you man!!

sandrider123
09-12-2007, 08:32 PM

09-15-2007, 11:41 PM
Well todays prgress suspension is installed, but this evening as I was cleaning up for the night I realized I forgot to put a little rubber bumper thing in the right rear, DOH!!!![:@]Anywaise also radiator was put back in, I had a friend modify my AEM intake so it will work til I can get a permanent fix, any idea of how I might go about getting a short ram to fit properly? Also the header was put on. Here are pictures from today. only a few.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF0537.jpg

So tomorrows plan, put in all the fluids, finish all the little odds and ends vacuum hoses last few plug ins, put the interior back together, finish the rear brake job and then bleed the brakes. And then theoretically I will be ready to give the start. So yes tomorrow is the start date. today went down the tube becasue the wrecking yard I was picking up parts from just jacked me around. Oh speedy turtle since I put new struts in to I just pulled all 4 strut assemblies out and assembled the new stuff and put them back in.

one of the interior changes:

and of course the seats:
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF0544.jpg

I want to hear everyones thoughts, oh I am thinking about putting my stock seats back in, the sparcos kind of create a blind spot for me, however I am going to give it some time and see if that changes.

Looks great man. Im sure u love that motor. U definetly should have done the intake manifold while the motor was out thou......the stock gsrmani is very restrictive.

sandrider123
09-18-2007, 08:04 PM
Yes I know I wish I could I could have done the IM while the car was out but I was on a budget, once I get moved me will see what my cash flow looks like and see if I can do that and TB then. And anyone who decides to do the swap in there EK civic just ask and I will give answers.

sandrider123

once I get a hood I have a 99/00 black SI front end that will be getting put on it. But finding this hood is proving to be hard

Mossy
11-13-2007, 09:14 AM
^ just get a 99-00 carbon one

sandrider123
11-13-2007, 11:18 AM
I would but I am not a far of how CF looks on black. And I am not going to pay that much for something that I dont like the looks of. Oh and next performace mod will be either IM and TB or a nice set of cams

You could always paint the cf but I see your point.

how much did you pay for that front end swap? my friend has an SI front end... he just wants $350 for it.

sandrider123
01-11-2008, 10:45 PM
well you see I was origionally going to pay 400 for everything (grille, hood, bumper, headlights and fenders). Well when I bought it I met the guy at a parking structure in downtown portland. Well he was in his turbo teg, I was in a big Diesel truck so he was going to have me follow him to his friends shop to get the hood and grille. So on the way there he calls his friend well it turns out it had been there so long he had already sold it and not told the kid I bought the front end swap from. So knowing this the kid just took off because he was so badly wanting to get rid of this front end. I tried to keep up with him but I couldnt. I had paid the guy 300 of the 400 he was asking for. So I ended up paying 300 for the front end but I was suppose to get a hood and grille for 400. Oh I know this becasue later on the kid text me and told me what happend then just was like "hope there are no hard feelings". I was ****ing pissed

09-22-2008, 08:15 PM
Well today even though I am pretty sick feeling I stripped the interior down to the bare floor and cleaned it then painted it with some POR 15 to give it rust protection and a nice clean look:
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF0983.jpg
What it started out as
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF0985.jpg
finished product, well with the paint part of it. I also got the floor harness all hooked in so then I will do dash harness tomorrow then when I get a new climate control reinstall the dash and when I get it new carpet as well.

nice hatch.... how much you pay for it?

ive wanted a hatch but hard to come by a decent one for decent price....

only one i found was 1200bucks which was a few weeks ago. no cash at the time so it sucks... o well... one day ill have a hatchback.

also did you get your 300bucks back from the guy for the front end? next time just remember NO CASH GIVEN OUT TILL YOU SEE THE PRODUCT! one moto to live by ;)

x2 also while the dash is torn out why not swap the center console/ac fan box to electronic to 99-00 as well ;)

^^^^ Why do you think I was talking about the CTR climate control? LOl well i would tell you how much I paid for it but you guys would hate me. LOL Kidding honestly I paid 200 for it, clean title mind you. And no never got my money back.

sandrider123
09-24-2008, 11:32 AM
I dont have his name or anything, and I still got my bumper, fenders and headlights just never got the hood out of him, so I ended up ordering a CF stock style hood then sportcompactonly.com screwed up and sent me 2 anyways so I sold one and basically got my money back. Im not to worried about it in the end it worked out great. and greddy last time I played with fire it didnt work out so hot lol, well actually it was pretty hot but not in a good way.

addiction2bass
09-24-2008, 12:50 PM
o ok.... i thought ya didnt get anything, by bad...
definatly lucky guy for getting the hatch! i am jelous! :(

im just suprised the paint was that good on the car! looks like he had already painted the engine bay black and did all the door jams to match that weak @ss baby blue exterior.LOL

how was the body lines filled? just bondo.LOL

i know when i paint my dx im gonna hate all the door jam and engine bay painting! :(

sandrider123
09-24-2008, 01:04 PM
Yeah the door jams were already done and the engine bay was done to a degree, So I stripped the engine bay down and painted the engine bay and as you can see the interior then I shot it all with POR 15 Gloss black, I love that stuff I have been using it on my 79 camaro as well. I figure the black engine bay will break up the phoenix yellow nicely. Plus should be easier to keep clean then a yellow engine bay.

addiction2bass
09-24-2008, 04:30 PM
o ya. plus the black will look nice with a black valve cover ;) give it kinda a stealthy look.
im going to paint mine a gunmetal which I HOPE will stay decently clean. i hope the custom paint doesnt cost to much... im not sure if my wheels i have have any metalic in them or not but i would like to add alittle sparkle to the color if it doesnt. ill price and have the paint mixed this winter ready for a spring paint job.

sandrider123
09-24-2008, 11:50 PM
I found out the paint just to do the hatch is going to cost about 300. Not sure I will probably wait til like i start school to see if I get a discount in the collision tech class at school.

So instead of scrapping the coupe (not really scrapping it but dismantling it) I am thinking about doing the hatch as a CTR show/race. So instead of of doing a DOHC VTEC perhaps a LS turbo? wont have the full CTR authenticity but will be way faster. what do yall think?

GReddy_Civic
09-25-2008, 04:07 AM
WOOT! i had been thinkin somethin similar. I wanna do a built ls swap in an EG hatch. And then time attack race that sumbitch

aye btw how hard was it to take out the dash, because i need to take out the center part in the a/c and i think i have to take the dash off to do it but i swear every screw is sripped in order to take the dash out

sandrider123
11-04-2008, 10:25 PM
dash was easy oh and to get the climate control out is a breeze, its only 3 screws

Its a 79 camaro, The plan is doing a 383 stroked with a TH350 stage 2 shift kit with trans brake, the suspension will be dropped about 2 inches and it will be sporting Corvette C5 brakes

Here it is in its current state:

08-26-2009, 10:43 PM
LOL where have I been? LIFE lol work school internship police cadet getting a job with the dept of corrections. This winter I was in and out of the hospital for a while had a gall bladder that as the doctors said as dead and causing massive intestinal issues. Then a month later went in for a major knee problem as a result of crashing a parts car I had bought for the camaro

this is what it looked like when I bought it:
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF1148.jpg
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF1150.jpg

78 Pontiac Trans am with a pontiac 400 running 375hp and 400 ft lb of torque. In a week it looked like this:
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF1158.jpg
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF1159.jpg
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/sandrider123/DSCF1160.jpg

I was out on a back road and decided nice straight stretch road that I have never seen anyone on I would see what it could do. Got up to 120 then some kids ran out of a corn field into the road I swerved and hit a 6 ft ditch coming out of the ditch everything on the car had buckled it became airborne out of the ditch hit the ground and snapped the car in half putting a metal rod into my knee. when it landed and snapped in half it was lights out for me. Never saw the kids again, was just told I ddint hit them. Anyways the crash investigator said the car probably rolled several more times after snapping in half. But who knows.
