does anyone know how much a port & polish runs $ wise?

Anywhere from $500-$800 depending on the shop but make sure you bring it to a reputable shop though. If the shop doesn't do it right, it could be a major headache.

you will definately feel the difference... its just like getting a bigger motor...

port and polishing the head makes the biggest difference when aftermarket cams, high comp pistons come into play as well as forced induction. IMO well worth the money in the long run.

thanks man actually im lookin into swapin in a D16Y8 because my engine had 200k + on it and ive talked to a few ppl and they tell me to go witht hte swap

go with the swap, that kind of money into the head, then the bottom end will go out.

yea thats what ppl have been telling me... im gunna do the swap when i have the time and the money i have heard that the d16y8 isnt a hard engine to find which means it isnt a very expensive swap which is exactly what i need... due to the low budget! well thanks for the info

what year car is this in? are you running the stock motor right now? if not, what motor is it.

im selling a d16y8 with a port and polish head hondata gasket, CAI, intake many and exaust manifold ported to match head, out of my 96 civic EX

where are you located, how much are you asking for it? also do you know an estimated hp with all the stuff done to it

around 150-160 w/o header, im in louisiana, also the head has been ported but not polished, polishing i head is not always the best thing, there is a theroy about it, air flows over air faster and smoother than it does metal, there for you dont polish the head and the rough alumnum catches air, and there for lets air move over air faster, get with me and im me on aim!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks man but i jus baught a new computer yesterday so now im broke....how much money do you have into your motor to have 150-160 hp out of it because in the future im going to buy a d16y8 but i dont know when i will have the money now... i know not soon tho
