Gotta work on those 60' times. That's whats killing your times. Cut that down to a 2.2 and see what happens. Good times for the car though.

those 60' times arent that bad for heavy 17s, it takes awhile for them to get rolling. but the first few times you race, itll probably be a bit disappointing. its a learning experience the first few times out. itll get better. not too bad though.

i was tryin, i have adjustable springs so i raised the back up to load up on the fron tires. i just got my car 6 months ago and its my first skick so im really just learning how to launch. i didnt bog like i did the first couple times at the track so thats good, but i gotta learn how to control the car shifting into 2nd, i get bad wheel hop. not to mention the car has no torque to begin with:(

Don't worry. Under the circumstances, those aren't that bad of 60' times. An Evo8 that I raced pulled a 2.58 60'[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

im not too upset, next time ill take the back seats out and get a better launch, i was aiming for a 15.2 but 15.5 is a p.r. so ill take it. also, usually my reaction time is .1something

blackeyes, you've got a pretty quick r.t. for a first-time stripper, which is one less (important) thing you need to worry about.

actually its my 3rd time but im still a beginer. but next time it will be a LOT quicker. i run track so im used to having a fast reaction time to things

i would say that youre biggest issue is the launch..one of my cars only runs 16.1s and i pull 2.38 60s...like 7s said...once you get the 60 down, youll be much happier with your times! but nice work though! what tree were you on? a half second delay with a 500 RT? or 000 RT? i have been to tracks that do both now..most of the IHRA tracks that i ran last year were running standard bulbs with a 500 RT, whereas the NHRA tracks had gone mostly to LEDs with a 000 RT tree

what do you mean by 500R/T and 000R/T?

so what kind of times were you looking for with a b16 for a few bolt-ons? Id say 15's are about where you should be. Nice run

I'd guess 000 R/T since otherwise he would've red lighted both times.

Patrick

right.but someone said those are good times...if it was a triple zero reaction time tree, than a 400 would be a 900 on a old tree...he needs to launch LOTS earlier..like on the last amber.

15.2 is definately attainable. I've been trying to become a better driver to make it into the 11.1s.

after all the $h1+ we've talked about evos im beginning to wonder if they are as good as everyone says :D

blackeyes

of course there as good, that drive just sucks. or he couldnt control the power from the launch.

Evos are hard as hell to launch. a lot of people mess it up a bunch before they get it right. esp if they are trying to go a little easy on their really expensive clutches. its hard not to bog it because the tires WILL NOT slip.

yeah thats what ive heard...ive never actually seen one or gotten the privilage to work on one tho...all the kids in my city are dirt poor

ive seen many, and driven them quite a bit, and i can tell you there is an art to launching an AWD with REALLY sticky tires.

Thats true, most ppl I see at the track cant launch their Evo's for ****. I average 15.5's in my Si with bolt ons too. My bud who just got his Si put on a cold air intake, went to the track and ran a 15.2. I was like damn what the hell am I doing wrong??!?
