Go with a header.
Stick to name brands. If you want to be a legal beagle, DC is a good option. If you don't care, grab a Megan Racing header. Both work great.
Use the search feature on this site to read the threads on both. It saves us having to answer the same question over and over! Welcome to HCF.

wut CAI do you have? apexi N1 is nice, but mad loud, once putting a header on, its gonna be a whole nother beast... lol... go with DC sport race header, i went with it, and i dont regret it at all. sounds awesome, and i have skunk2 70mm catback.

get the header, then when you got the money, hop on the manifold. car will sound nice. run catless unless you weld on the high flow cat.

"run catless unless you weld on the high flow cat."
^ don't do that unless you live in a state that does not do emissons inspections.
also read the I/H/E FAQ...

with cars over 1998 they simply hookl up the machine to the ECU, they dont use the smog tested on the end of the pipes. they may look under the car with mirrors, however i took the outter can of my sotck exhaust and welded around the header/catback so it looks liek a cat is on the car. as long as your check engine light is not on the computer will pass your car. or if you dont feel like going that route, give the guy testing your car extra $$ and let him know it needs to pass and he can keep the change. (i did it for my GF car, slipped him only$20 and her car passed.)

i kno, but putting a cat on this would be a b!tch, i'd have to cut both my header and catback, i am looking to sell the header to my sisters BF once i get my turbo. so, if i cut it i'd be hit, he couldnt use it, he is looking to put it right up to his catback, he loves how it sounds. i live in CT, everyone here has a cat, and civics are already ULEV, well atleast the new ones i can say are. so running catless on my car really doesnt make a differnence.
about how long is a intake manifold install? on a 07 SI?? cuz header was a huge job. 3+hours, not like the old SI's, this thing has to go in back of the engine and is rediculous hard to get to.

was your header 1 or 2 parts? because if it was 1, that explains why it was so hard

was only one part... was a real pain in the you know what....
