Street n Strip - Shouldn't be admitting this......

Well I'm cruising around in my 1990 Civic hatch DX and I got the 17s on it, the integra front end, the Apexi N1 turbo muffler and my music blaring. Even though I have a stock 1.5L with nothing done other then cat back exhaust with a cold air which everyone knows even a huge turbo isnt going to help my dogged out 89hp 1.5.

Well I'm sitting at a light and even though there isnt much out there I can beat in a race when this kid pulled up next to me I was like shoot I can take him no problem. He looked over at me and nodded and I nodded back and rev'd up to about 2 grand. Throw my Skunk2 short shifter into 1st and got ready. I was like finally I'm gonna win a race!

After what seem like forever the light turns green and dump the clutch, tires chirp a little bit but pretty much hooked up and I was off, I run 1st and bang 2nd, just as I'm riding 2nd out almost ready to hit 3rd all I can see was that kid hit high gear on me and blowing me out of the water. I almost cried as I turned off the next road I could...


I never seen a 12 year old pedal his Huffy mountain bicycle so freakin fast.

Dude, don't feel so bad, at least you got the DX. I'm stuck with the standard 70 bhp model. Enjoy those extra 19. Huffy bikes, I'd be crying too.

aww babe that sux. i've only been beaten once...that was the last time i raced... i have a stupid question... how much hp does a stock EX have? just wondering.

ouch man, thats rough. i think i'm up to 140hp maybe? i can hit 80 in 3rd gear so its quick enough for me

you guys are probably all faster than the car i drove in college...a 1990 chrysler sundance america...2.5 liter, non-turbo, 3-speed automatic. im not sure if i could get to 80...[&o]

haha, thats one hot whip pat. still probably faster than my first car. '89 cadillac brougham. it had a v8, but the thing weighed more than a hummer and the carbuerator would like jam so the car wouldn't go above 30 sometimes when i was trying to merge onto a freeway [:@]

I can run a faster 60' time than at least 4 of my friends cars.

i just put in my supercharger so im up to about 207 or so. Im ready to roll!

I own a honda civic turbo. Today I beat a early to mid 1990's mustang GT. I had him by a few car lengths at about 75 miles an hour.

my first car was a nissan sentra with an SR20 swap.....that was a fun car lol

the shadow wasnt even my slowest car!!

1984 Oldsmobile Regnecy Eighty-Eight Brougham...when in college i had that too, and i lived in the hood, so we tinted the windows jet black, put a huge cheap system in it, painted the 100 spoke hubcaps gold, and at least once a day a neighbor would ask to buy it..:D it was also a V8, but it was so tired...lol...when my roommate totaled it, it had almost 300,000 miles on it..something like 297,xxx. It was slow as hell, but it had lots of room for a system, and still enough room to carry 6 kegs. [8D]

yea, but to be fair my 2nd car was a Jaguar XJ6. soooo much fun

yeah, well i used to drive a 1983 svt 38 special ford escort hb with shimano shifter, oh yeah baby. that thing could smoke down the ..... exhaust.

the slowest car i ever "owned" was a late 70ish subaru. me and a friend split the $50 to buy it, that should tell you how awesome this car was. i was going downhill on the highway with the pedal floored and the tach pegged and it wouldn't go past 66 mph. no bs.

i lost a race in that car to a 1985 cavalier station wagon. those have 92 hp, btw.

i hate to say it, but after what happened today, i now know the civic is DEFINITELY the fastest car i've ever owned.

That is frickin HILARIOUS!!! My Civic is just as fast as my previous 4.3L S10. I know this because my friend has an S10 with the same engine, and we were neck in neck the whole way down the street. The Civic is Waaaaaay more fun to drive though! Gotta love having a manual and saving a bunch of $$$ on gas!

Yeah man, watch out for those GTs and Dynos though. The GT Mach 1 will be your greatest challenge. They're way faster and better built than Huffy's. Just saying be careful. ;)

i had a badass robinson rebel, all BMX'd out... took down a couple of civics on her. dont feel bad.
