I have one 12in l5 and its plenty. L7s are a waste of money for most people, the only advantage they have is the ability to handle more power, they sound the same as l5s with the same power to them. I'd say go with a pair of 10s or a single 12 and a decent amp

well i heard a single 10, and it didnt bump like my 2 alpines did, obviously.. do you think one 12 at RMS would??

a single 12 in a nice ported box would be all that you need. Btw, the RMS on these subs are pretty conservative, you wouldnt need to worry much about giving it a little extra juice

1000 watts on an L7 is nothing, you're not going to be blasting it hours on end anyhow. if you get one sub make sure its dual 2ohm so it can be wired to 1ohm

I would get 2 12's and a bad assed amp if i were buying, or 10's, which is my preference, and a perfectly powered setup. 10's thump, 12's rumble, 15's are just stupid.

whats so amazing about it, the way that you can't hear any of the highs or mids for that matter.
^^^ that blows, hopefully it's not damaged, doubt your insurance will cover it.

if your sub is drowning out your mids/highs then you need to spend more money on nice mids/highs and an amp to power them. i've had 18s, 15s, 12s, and 10s and never had a problem hearing mids/highs.
if it ain't loud enough make it louder
