what car/engine do you have?

I had an 97 LX with the D16Y7 (non Vtec engine) and putting the header on meant i got rid of the stock catalytic converter. this will create some raspiness and buzzing. headers wil do that anyway as the sound wavesstraight from the combustion chambers and all the crazy frequencies of what goes on in there are alot more audible.

I'm soon to be putting on a high flow cat and a resonator to help quiet down the car a little bit. you might have to do the same.

it dpends on what car you have ^ does your stock exhaust manifold have the cat in it? Is there a big bulge in it? If so, then you removed the cat when you installed the header. Installing a new cat or high-flow cat somewhere in the exhaust piping should quiet it down a bit. If you have the header bolted onto the cat itself (like the d16y8), then your raspiness is unknown to me; usually a header doesn't change the exhaust tone too much, and usually not for the worse with the name brand like Weapon

sounds like an exhaust leak to me... you might need a new manifold gasket from the dealership. You could even invest in some APR head studs for that perfect seal.

so i was looking at the header and the downpipe and i saw that the round gasket thing that goes between the header and downpipe has a big chip on some of the edge and it doesnt really fit perfectly, could that be the problem?
