The block is corroded. This happens from using plain water or very old antifreeze instead of good coolant. You probably are in trouble, the new gasket won't seal very well when there's no metal to press against.

yeah thats what i was thinking... do you think i'd get 6 months out of it if i just slaped a new gasket on it? or do you think it would blow again right away?

If the car is already down, replace the block, cause yours is dying.

you could slap the head gasket on it and cross your fingers it lasts long enough for you to save up enough cash for a new motor....

Yeah something is wrong there Addiction, the #2 piston should be up at the top like #3 is. But no corrosion!
For the OP I would expect a new gasket to blow out almost immediately, your time and money would be better spent on a complete replacement engine.

yea you deff shouldnt have 3 pistons down and only one up

ya i had to take a funny video of it.... the motor was trash anyways. only thing of value was the head and intake... the rest of the block and such was trashed from this little culprit. previous owner didnt know how to shift ;) i unpluged the fuel pump, wired the battery back in quickly and cranked it over a few times. ;)
and ya when the motor has no compression or valve train to work against that starter will wip it over pretty fast [8D]

what i shoulda done is put a bunch of rice in every cylinder and then cranked it over.... and watch the rice FLY... but i didnt think about it till after i had everything pulled out and apart. :(
