i have a 1991 civic si hatch with a b16 and i plan on swapping it for a h22. i heard things about understeer and thats its heavy. im not worried about steering since i just want to use it for 1/4 mile. and i can get it for 1800. so wut do u think. is it worth it? a shop that i talked to said he can put it in for 500. and then just buy parts like axels, shift linkage and mounts. the only thing to worry about it wiring. is that true? i plan this to be my final swap i ever do to this car. let me know if i am wasting my time and money?

well i wont lie but the h22 is a strong motor for that ef and it would be bad ass lol :D but i heard that they are a pain to install and also your going to have to do alot of modifacations like switching from obd0 to maybe obdI or II dont know really cause dont know which h22 your getting. anyways i think you should for a few reasons. 1. not many people have h22 in a ef model and it would be a good swap to have. 2. the your getting a the motor for a good price i think you should get the mounts from harasport(cant spell) i sure they have the mounts instock. 3. you going for the 1/4 and of course turning doesnt even take place during the drag. well thats the best reason i think of right now but anyways good luck on the swap you should sell the b16 if everything goes well with the h22 swap get a good 1500 out of it lol.

hasport makes mounts. you need axles (hasport), covert to obd1 if you get obd 1 motor. if obd2 covert motor to obd1 it is easier. i know you need the shift cables, and an accord or prelude shifter assembly. You need to dent the right hand lower frame rail for trans clearance, and dent the firewall for intake manifold clearance, any b series cai for an ef will work. look for an older copy of sport compact car for swap details. Go to www.hasport.com www.boomslang.us for obd conversion and swap info/ parts lists
And it can handle if you put the right suspension and tires on it they got like 1.05 g on skidpad with it and it ran i think a 13.4 on a completely internally stock engine with cai exhaut and header

Please check out my site goes into full detail and pictures of the H22 EF swap. I make the motor mount kits and traction bar system for the H22 EF. Weight is not a problem. My 90 crx HF weighs in at 2020 lbs without me in it with the H22 swap. It corners and handles better then my old LS crx. It pretty much either is identical far as the weight as a gsr swap or off a few lbs. A GSR transmission weighed 2-3 lbs less then a H22. Handling is not a problem with the H22 in the EF. I love my H22 rex and wouldnt change it.

The entire swap is about 65lbs heavier than a bseries swap. Understeer isn't even that big of an issue but if you get heavier rate springs up front you'll be fine. The only thing that is worse is throttle steer, with the added torque and extra bit of weight up front if you are on the gas and get off it quick it will want to kick around. Good swap especially if you do the H2B tranny conversion kit so you can get the gearing of a Bseries and the solid deck of an H with all its low end power.

that last link is dead.
i looked on other sites and they arent showing that the h22a is a compatible swap into the ef series.. how much of a difference is there between a 91 dx hatch and the crx compartment wise? from my quick inspection they seem identical.. only reason i ask is that my hatch is currently an automatic, and when i embark on my swap i want to convert the car to manual while ive got it gutted..
which throws another setback because now i need to acquire clutch components that will be compatible with the lsd of the h22a.
anyhow, im kinda scared about the talk of the angling of the engine, as well as mentions of custom fabrication of crossmember and driveshaft..
hoping for a little clarification
