So here is the moral of the story...i traded some kid some cash and a sub/amp/box for this civic. Obviously it needs a bit of love and affection and she will be ready for many more years of service. So when i got the car it had a torn driver side CV boot, rod through the block, piston crown shattered, connecting rod bent every possible way and a beautiful hole two different places in the oil pan. Anyways, here come some pre-construction pictures.

A little advanced stages of typical honda rot, will take a little time to fix up but body work
is no biggie.

Looks like something just rubbed against the side, once again cosmetics no problem

pretty clean interior for the price i paid, some armor-all on everything and a great sweep and
it will be back to stock :)

pretty riced exhaust, may take off later

finally a pic of the car, its a decent starting point, ZERO under body rust or in trunk or engine bay

The old D16Z6 torn down a bit, popped the rear piston out

you can obviously see some of the destruction, some forces are rather impressive.

Even though there is a rod through the side of the block, the good news is i discovered there is a lightweight flywheel of some sort, i am unable to identify its maker, if anybody knows what it is PLEASE TELL ME!

10/14/08 i got my new motor the D16Y7 (Will post pics soon), paid around $150 for a working motor. Took the intake manifold off and torque converter. Hopefully try and get some money from them. I also took the valve cover off and everything looks good. So i assume everything is in decent condition.

get some light on the subject
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x304/93pgtkid/DSC03378.jpg
with the light brown color on everything it looks like somebody took care of the motor,
no hardcore hydrocarbon deposits.
