Street n Strip - 00 civic EX vs 83' 280zx...?

me and my friend were just talking and we're wondering something. He has an 83' 280 zx with a cold air intake. The 83 280 comes stock with 135hp and 144 lbs torque. My 00 civic EX VTEC comes with 127hp and 107 lbs torque. I have a short ram intake, HP Racing header, 2.25" exhaust from cat back, and 9.3mm plug wires. Who would win if we were to race a 1/4...? We're not sure. The specs for his car also say his 0-60 time is 9.2 seconds and mine say it's 9.1 seconds.

Why dont you just figure it out and race him....? Win one for the civics!!!

i got my money on your civic. his car is old and has probably lost HP due to wear and tear. Non-turbo Zs are weak

Geez, 144ft/lbs of torque? What the hell is in there? A straight 6?

With your mods you probably have a small edge in Hp but your torque numbers will still be lacking. He also has RWD if I am not mistaken which means he will probably get a jump on you. Should be a pretty good race. Take it to the track and sort it out. Bring a video camera and tape it for us.

I think the Vtec edges it out though.

Btw- I think the 0-60 time for your car is a little high. It's probably more like 8.5sec.
