Taking out back seat...'88 Hacthback
Well, I've been wanting to take the back seat out of my '88 hatch, in order to apply some sound deadener and get exact measurements for a sub box I'll soon be building.
I have everything taken out that I possibly can, I just can't for the life of me get the back part of the back seat out(the 40/60 split that folds down). There's some kind of bar that goes across the bottom of the seat where the back of the seat pivots. The metal bar has connecting points on the sides of the car, by the rear wheel wells...and there is also a metal bracket that it goes through right around the 40/60 split area.
If anyone with some experience at dimassembling these seats, PLEASE chime in...I've fried my brain trying to figure it out the past hour.

dude this is the EXACT same problem i had with my 90 hatch. theres no bar that goes all the way across. the back part of the seats is only held together by the carpet. ok theres 2 ways to go about this, inbetween the seats the metal that comes up look in there theres some plastic pieces pull them out and the seats should come right out. Second choice, PARTS MAY BREAK, use a flat head on the outsides of the seat where it goes into the side pannels and pop out those plastic parts.
hope that helps.
