Brake/Rotor question
i noticed my car's brake pedal has to be pushed pretty hard to brake. its pushed quite a ways down compared to normal cars. but maybe this is normal. normal to me is braking by barley pressing it down. anyone know how to fix it? also, when i brake a get a "fffft, fffft" repeating sound when i brake. is that my rotor?
I'd take a look at your rotors and pads. Sounds to me like your pads are worn out. Is there any vibration when you brake? If there is then your rotors could be warped and that could be causing that sound too.
It could be any of a number of things:
-air in the lines
-master cylinder is worn
-vacuum booster leak
If you have a warped rotor, air could be getting into the brake fluid, making the brake pedal feel a bit spongy. I'd have it checked out as soon as you can.
