This is a post for my dad, maybe you guys can help-
I am new to Accord ownership. I recently bought an '07 Accord SE V6 with 48K
miles on it. The car seems in good shape other than a "roaring noise" that
seems to be coming from the back of the car. The noise increases/decreases as
my speed changes. The prior owner has two sets of tires on the car. Michelins
on the rear and two off-brand tires on the front. I suspect there is an
incompatibility between the tires and the Michelins were likely moved to the
rear after a long time on the front. (The off-brand newer tires were then put
on the fronts . . .) I have about 6 months of tread left. The easy answer is
new tires . . . I don't know if the these Accords have bearing or CV joint
issues at 45-50K miles . . . ??? Any ideas here?
Mechanically, what should I be looking for?
I plan to take the car over to Honda for a check-out . . . Brakes? Fluids?
Oil is recently changed, fluids are topped off. Engine bay is super clean,
looks nearly brand new. When are spark plugs changed? (I looked briefly
through the service records and it's not clear to me what the critical
service intervals are.)
Appreciate your input.
Thanks
Kevin
