Ok today when I was driving home my engine started to make this ticking sound. Then whenever I get to a light or a stop sign and I put my foot on the clutch, the car turns off. I have no idea what the clicking noise is but it must have something to do with the clutch because the car keeps shutting down when I hold down the clutch.

p.s its a 1992 EG.

It will idle in neutral, but stall only when you push the clutch? Or does it not idle at all?

It's difficult to envision that pushing the clutch pedal down causes the engine to stall. You more likely have a basic idle problem. Is the CEL ON? Have you cleaned the IACV on the throttle body?

Also when you hear strange noises from the engine, stop and check the oil level immediately before doing anything else.

Yes it idles fine. It clicks as soon as I start the car and if I rev it the clicking goes up also.

sounds like river rats. Yep son, they are a problem sometime. I had a big one in my engine the other day. Went to start up heard some ticking, opened hood and wham right in the nose! son of a gun hit me hard! get some rat poison, should do the trick!
