Street n Strip - Newbie poses a good question

New guy "Bkhobbs" asked who has the fastest Civic on the forum and I was like... I don't know.

I looked in our wildly popular "timeslips" section, and according to it- "blacllkllsi" has the fastest Civic with an ET of 13.700 @ 108 MPH, and I think "se7ensectoolate" ran him off on his first day.

Soooo.... who does have the fastest CIVIC (LEVIII and Patrick) on the forum?? I know it aint me.

and in NO way do i trust the junk tech pro. i had one for about a week, and it was like 3 tenths off from what i actually run.

0.3 faster or slower?

it said that i should run like a 15.90...i run 16.1s. it also told me that i had 131hp...which means i have drivetrain loss of like 75hp..:eek:

Yeah, I don't trust it that much in "real world" times, but since I have used from run #1, it gives me a good baseline comparison(s).

That's kinda discouraging if you say the g-tech times were lower.

sacs is pretty quick i know that (mid 14s ish). se7ensectoolate ran an 11.98 BEFORE the rebuild...then someone chased him off the forum.

and if i remember correctly, on that timeslip he practically fell asleep on the line (he had like a 1.68 reaction time) so he prolly was down in the low 11's before the rebuild (with a good launch)

Well he isn't active anymore so he doesn't count. I guess for that matter "blacllkllsi" doesn't count either since he left with 7toolate. So I guess that puts "md420" at the head of the pack with an ET of 14.430 @ 95.6 MPH.

with a turbo running 10+psi on a built K20...i dont doubt his claims. he had to have been pushing 300+ horses

honestly, i couldnt care less whether he was honest or not, but i am going by the general concensus that he was not completely honest with things....either way...like i said, i dont care, if he does run 11s...thats awesome..if he doesnt..neither do most people.

I ran a 14.83 baby launching the car at 1000 rpms (baaaaald tires). So I'm hoping to get a 14.1 now that I know how to launch the car properly. I went to the track tonite and didnt plan on running untill the announcer was talking about "sport compacts" and how they are a growing field and how he was freaking out since one of the little 4cyl cars was keeping up with a pre 99 GT with a horrible driver :( So I went to hop in my car and try for low 14's, but I forgot the d-strip requires long pants. I might go next wed. but I HATE going there without any friends (scary place for an import in south mississippi) so I may or may not have a new time next week.

P.S. I doubt se7en even had the car. He never posted many pictures, and shyed away from tech help. When he did open his mouth his info was wrong. Anyone who hides under the cloak of "my enemies could be reading the forum so I cant list all my mods" doesnt get many points in my book. And posting a slip doesnt do jack diddly for me unless its on the car in question. I dont know if he did that, and either way I dont care.

fastest time I hit in my Si was 14.2
That was before the intake, header, exhaust, Type R tranny w/LSD, slicks, VAFC, a bunch of chasis lighting, fully adjustable suspension, polyeurthane(sp?) motor mounts, 6 puck clutch, lighter wheels, drilled and slottet brembos, camber kit, and cam gears.......................and before it was jacked and stripped.

I was saving up for a B18C5 block the time it was stolen and actually had the money and was begining to shop for one.

yeah...i tried it over and over again...and it always had the same relative results....i wanted to try it on the 12 second car, but it seemed to confuse the junk-tech

I mean, he kept posting on here what he had done to his ride, but never posted any pics. It was always "I don't want everyone and his brother to see what I have in my engine bay". Well, what's the difference, he had so many posts telling everyone and his brother.

And the reason he left the forum was because he had gotten called out because he didn't have any proof or facts to back his stories up, as well as he got flamed for always needing to go one better than everyone else on here no matter what. Almost everytime someone couldn't wait to tell the forum some good news, along came "Mr. Big and Better" to shoot down their post and say he had or had done way better.

It all ended when he got scolded for stealing civicboy's thunder when civicboy was telling us he had bought about $250.00 worth of fireworks. Well, "Mr. Big and Better" said that civicboy's fireworks were "weak" because "Mr. Big and Better" and his friend had bought a $billion worth or so.

The people that called se7ensectoolate know who they are, and my hat goes off to them for standing up for what's right. So I say, good riddens, we don't need someone like that on here.

and i dont think that you meant anything by this comment, so dont take offense, but this is a really unfair question. it implies that the owner whos car is stolen is to blame. it doesnt matter if you leave it running with the keys in it, its still the theifs fault. if people didnt steal, then we could do that without problems. im just saying not to forget that its the theives that cause the problems. and its not always possible for people to park in a garage. especially in cali where property values have skyrocketed, and having a garage has become a luxury many people cant afford. and if i remember right, there was a car in the garage that Leviii let a friend park in there until he could get it moved to his own house.

well, on my return i do find some heart lightening changes occuring. some people forget that this forum is intended to help and educate. saying "your too slow", or "dude, you got burned", whatever, HELPS NOBODY BUT THEMSELVES. excuse me for yelling.

Yes, had a friends project eg hatch in there. Now the Lancer does not ever get to sleep under the stars. I plan all friends projects and everything around parking in the garage, its such a hassle but I dont think I could deal with another loss like that again.

I live in chicago and there are garages everywhere. I didn't mean to offend any1 by that comment.

im not arguing with you guys here...im just putting in my 2 cents.

i dont know what happened here, i wasnt here when se7en turned his back on us (yeah polo...i know he chose to leave and i dont blame you or any of the other mods for banning him or anything)...but he was one of the people who made me stay on the forum in the beginning because of the help he offered me. i dont know why your saying his blowing it in peoples faces, the only time i ever saw him doing that was to some asshole who said he ran 12s and was like 'anyone faster? didnt think so!'. he was and ass to asses, thats all i ever saw. and yeah...he did post pictures...in his gallery when he was nominated for ROTM.

and again...i never saw him telling people they werent good enough unless that person happened to be an ass in the first place.

they changed the rules for NHRA and IHRA sportsman class now Leviii...its 11.49, for whatever thats worth to you.

but there are tracks, like the one near me, that require hemlets for all cars..it sucks because when i moved i didnt bring my helmet..[:@]

That helps a lil, Im pretty confident on the high 11s so the low 11s will have to wait for my water injection. Then I can leave for good cause I refuse to put a cage in a stock engine, stock turbo, 4 door, 4 cylinder almost brand new car
