What exactly would be required as far as wiring to swap in the b16a2 (from an 99 si) into a 92 si which is obd1? i've looked around and read conflicting info.
and what are these conversion harnesses?
thanks

im pretty sure Hasport makes a wiring harness that just plugs it in.

i just got that exact install done two weeks ago. i had changed exactly d16y to b16a2 with front discs, fuel tank, return line, Harness, OB2 cpu, drive line and shift linkages.

FastFwd, can you throw some tips my way?
did you use the engine harness from the obd2 si? or do you use one of those adaptor harnesses? or both?

for running a different kind of injector. there are two kinds, saturated, and Peak and Hold. if you change to the other kind, you need a resistor box.

so will the 99-00 si harness and ecu work? would i still need to use the hasport adaptor harness? and when do you have to swap injector plugs and distributor?
the reason for all this is that i will be getting my friends si engine, trans, etc cheap when he swaps. too good to pass up, plus "i know where its been." just want to see if its worth the hassle to swap into an obd1 car.

wait, i have read that the 99-00 si harnesses are 1 piece, so not good for swap?
so,
1. can i use the eg harness with a adaptor harness from hasport? would anything else have to be modified; injector plugs, alternator plug, etc?
2. or would i be able to use a obd2b integra harness since tegs and eg's are the "same" sort of? would they be 2 piece harnesses also? would i need a hasport adaptor? if so, which one?

im not sure exactly what you need, but Hasport has it. they have anything you might need that is honda swap related.

Go to OBD1,better for tunning reasons, and all you need to do is swap the dizzy cap/internals,and ecu. You have a eg si all you need is a OBD1 DOHC ecu and the stuff with the dizzy cap.
I happen to have a OBD1 P30 that would work great if you wanted to buy it

so if i go obd1, i use the eg harness, but would i need an obd2b harness to hack and swap the injector plugs, alternator plug, distributor plug?
also, i have seen obd distributor jumpers, do they make it so you don't have to swap dizzy?

No you do not need a obd2 harness at all, the obd1 si harness that is in the car will work fine. The only thing different is obd1 harness will not have 2 plugs for O2 sensors There will only be one O2 sensor plug. To cancel out the check engine light you will need a obd1 ecu(P28 converted for a dohc,p30,or so on)
The reason you swap the internals in the dizzy cap is cause the plug from it will not connect to the wiring harness being it is obd2. So you could theoreticly get away w/o changing the internals of the dizzy cap but at the expense of having to cut a solder 25 different wires after you match them up which are totally different colors

though i have been reading that the obd I injector plugs and alternator plugs, etc are different from obd IIb plugs, therefore you need at least the plugs of the obd IIb harness???

no difference in them
when do people have to swap injector plugs then? i have read about it, is it obdo to obd1 or something?
