These are 5th Gen McCulloch HIDS
Hey guys, if you have ever thought about getting HIDS now is the time. I asked a friend of mine to come here and help with a group buy to get some HIDS. I delt with him through another forum that I post on and the transaction went so smooth that I asked him to come here. He goes by the name of Shaun (95exrv6) and can answer just about any question you can throw at him.
Like I said earlier: They are "plug-and-play" so there is no cutting of the stock harness, 100% waterproof, and emmit about 4x the amount of light. These are what you see on the New Mercedes, BMW's, and Volvo's. I bought a set and can't believe I waited so long to do it. Simpley put, they are incredible.
bulb types available :
H1, H3, H4, H7, H11, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, 9008
If we can get together atleast 10 people then here are the prices that he can offer us:
3000k = $250USD
5300k = $250USD
6000k = $280USD
8000k = $310USD
10000k = $340USD
price has shipping included
Here are the colors of each kelvin rating:
http://www.neon-lighting.com/articles/colortemp.jpg
3000k is going to make a yellowish color, 5300k is the closest to perfect white, 6000k has a slight hint of blue and as you get higher it starts to turn purple

This is a good deal for you guys. Im even tempted to upgrade my high beams to this but first I have to figure out a few things that have come up with the car as this may not be feasable.

Hi fellow members
I'm shaun, and very happy to have been invited on this forum to offer a GB
Polo has purchased a kit from me and is very happy, as the other 300+ people online are as well
now for your post LEVII ...
no worries I will be offering GB's online untill all members have hids ;) that is my goal at least
You'll see more, meaning you'll be able to reach A LOT faster and see more on the highway and streets
You'll get credit in car shows for performing a modification ;) extra points
you'll get the style of a higher class vehicle
for 250$ you cannot find other modifications that can offer those three points
installed takes all over 7-20 minutes, depending on your tim the toolman skills
they are plug and play, so headaches will not arise, no cutting, splicing :)
I order kits, they get to your door, shipped via fedex ... some kits shipped out and recieved in 4 days, some take 10 ...
all depends on the workload @ the supplier
payments are accepted via paypal ( address to sent : cleaverv@hotmail.com )
I'm a civic owner as well ;)
( wife's car )

Only time will tell now, but I would like to let eveyone know HIDs are friggen awesome and if you guys pick these up you will love them.

Hey Shaun, does that free shipping go to Canada as well? And would there be any problems going across the border? Can the parcel be marked as "a gift", or "sample for evaluation" to cut down on the BS at the border?

no worries on the boarder ;)
I live in canada, as does my business partner
you don't need to worry about the taxes, customs, brokerage or shipping I offer @ that price for all kits included
the only thing you need to concern yourself with is what color you want ;)
make a decision and post it
make the paypal payment and the kit will be there ASAP ( 4-8 days depending on supplier delay )
250$ USD is a 5300k or a 3000k shipped to your door :)

Once I buy my Civic (soon, I hope), I may go for them. Right now I'm torn between this great HID price or a set of Sylvania Silverstars.
the HIDs = great price, great look, tons of light
Sylvania Silverstars = lower price, good look, lots of light, cheaper bulb replacement cost
Can you give me any more pros or cons on either?
polo708

HIDS= no replacement price (last forever)

you have to look at it this way, when you want the taste of beef, do you go to McDonalds ? or do you go to the local SteakHouse ?
if you look @ it as a cost factor ... sure, silverstars seem to be the better choice, but everyone and their grandmother has them ... get something original and unique, something that will outlast the silverstars

how do the h4's work w/ the dual filament???
95exrv6
09-13-2005, 06:44 AM
with all H4 there is a choice to be made
since DRL and highbeams run on the same current, just different output ... most people get a low beam HID application
you will not need the high beams like what you would have with the halogen - since the high beam output would be 3-5 times less light then the HID low beam output ;)

If it helps any... the stock wires are solid black (inside plug), red with thin white stripe (top plug, stripe may be yellow, can't tell) and red with black stripe (outside plug, stripe may be silver)
When I say inside/outside, i'm referring to the side closest to the engine (inside) and away from the engine (outside)
I assume the wires going to the HID controller are black/negative and white/positive, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Auto98Ex,
My name is cleaver, I was the one who made the order of the HID kit. Shaun is my business partner. I can try to help you on your problem. Basically a normal H4 bulb has three prongs (Common ground, and two positives [one for high and one for low]). With the LOW beam only HID kit, basically you lose the capability of having highbeams.
However the stock OEM plug still has three females ends (to accomodate the normal H4 bulb). With the HID kit that you got that only has two on the picture you provided, one will be ground and one will be positive. To find out which one goes to where, you would need to do some trouble shooting on the installation. You will not damage the system by plugging in the wrong one.
You would start off with plugging the black of the HID kit to the middle of the female end of the OEM plug OR to the "solid black wire" that you described. Then the white (positive) would plug in either the left or the right OR to one of the other wires. Then, you would turn on your headlights and see if it works properly. If it flashes like a strobe like that means its wrong and its on the highbeam plug which you do not want (unless you want your highbeam power always on).
So, in the end what your really only doing is switching around the two plugs on the three female oem plugs. Eventually you will find out which one works normally. YOu would also need to disable your DRL's because if you leave it on, the HID kit would keep flashing and would damage the ballast.
I hope this helps a bit...let me know if you need any more assistance! :D

Thanks Hondaboi. I pretty much went through the exact process you described two nights ago... trial and error ;)
Anyway I figured it out and they're working fine now, and look great. Thanks for trying to help, though! Even though I got impatient and figured it out on my own, the gesture is still much appreciated :)
Oh and thanks for the great deal!

Um...I read one of polo's posts saying they aren't street legal. Was that just for where he is, or everywhere? I will never put my car in a show, just a daily driver, so I don't wanna get harrassed by the fuzz and I don't want to throw away money...(BTW, how much? $250?)

they are legal if the vehicle comes with HID
if you are going to install them in a projector or retrofit something sweet then fine
if you install a 12000k kit which would be purple in an OE housing and making u're car look like a transformer ... then I would pull u over myself and slap u
the kits I sell 3000k ( foglights ) are yellow
5300k are white ( no cop will ever bother u from these )
6000k are blu-ish light ( same thing, cops will think they are silverstars ) you can always keep an empty box of halogen replacements in your car
above that it would be more color then light, better for projector or retrofit
