i have a automatic 2005 civic EX and i was wondering what could i do to increse performance witout a swap, switichin to manual, and witout a turbo kit..... ( r all turbo kits illegal?) .. sorry ima newb! .. .so yeah just list wat u think i could do and how much increase i should get if any

 

Not all turbos are illegal.
Best ways to gain performance are intake,
header, exhaust, suspension, and sticky tires.
After that you can also upgrade ignition, reduce weight,
throw on some giggle gas, or upgrade your tranny.

but on an automatic, i thought putting intake and exhaust, etc. doesnt really have any effect?

 

It's not gonna drop two seconds off your quarter time,
but anything that helps an engine breath is a good thing.
Go run five miles and only breath thru your nose, then
try it breathing thru your mouth. Building blocks...

 

Yup yup. Everything helps. My roommate's automatic '04 dx just has an Injen CAI, a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, and Eibach lowering springs and it keeps up with my manual transmission '05 ex.
