I'm getting a 96-00 civic and i've got some ideas on what i want to do about the exterior and i just wanted to see what everyone had to say.

First off i was going to do an Acura RSX front end conversion. I want to get a hatch but no one in my area is selling one so ill probably end up with a coupe. To fill in the flow of the front end of the car i was thinking about putting a Type-R wing from an Acura RSX as well. So. Tell me what you think. If you want to sell me a hatch and your in california let me know. Cuz im lookin.

I don't like the wing. I think the lower wings look better.

That's a Civic wing, negotiator. He is doing an RSX coversion. Make sure you get a "K" to go in there too. I wouldn't want the RSX front end if it didn't come with the motor attached.

Yeh, I know my picture was a Civic spoiler. I guess I didn't explain myself enough, (sorry). I was just trying to let him know that IMO, I think the lower, sleeker style of spoilers look better (whether it be a Civic or RSX style). And I have seen RSXs with that sleeker style of spoiler.

I agree with the sniper. Looks don't mean dick, i'd rather have the guts than the exterior. But its your car, and i'd be interested to see the end result.

Yea, Id rather have the johnny big balls to back it up than just another pretty face. But thats a cool idea.

its a shame you are out on the west coast derekfcc and not the east coast because I could do all your body work cheap. I did the integra conversion on my 90 hatch.

how much dough is that conversion? it's great looking

I MYSELF even agree with the whole "balls" before the looks but when your married, you've got a kid, and your not going to do a lot of racing around town there's no point in putting 3,000 towards power that will most likely go unused, but hell if i found an extra 3k in my bank account i'd drop a k series in there with a quickness.

oh and the conversion is availiable @ phasenine.com for about 1,000

Haha, Ya k compared to d series, but who can say that K isnt gay? I drive my friends Stock integra with the k20, and I feel like getting out and running, cause I might go faster. If you want your conversion and some balls too, just mod the D. T3 turbo kits can go for 600 dollars, and run much faster than the stock K. And the HKS blow off valve will make all the girlies happy too. Sorry if these posts on the GO before Sho are annoying you, I kno you didnt ask about what to do to make if faster, but I guess thats the thing to do these days. The RSX front clip looks sick on a coup. I think it might look goofy on a Hatch. My Op. Goodluck with whatever you do.

I agree, that looks good. I just don't like the wings that stick way up like a big handle.

Go ahead and comment, that's what this forum is all about......opinions (not flaming each other).

Ok I for one think it is tasteless and totally messes up the body lines of a car, That front end is totally not even right for a civic nor is a teg front end of any kind(not poking fun at the member with the eg/teg hrbrid thingy)

If you want a teg buy a teg, if you want a rsx save up and buy a rsx but I guess it is where I am function > form in everything I do and like the existing body of a civic

With a good body man or ALOT of skills yourself, you can make it match the body lines of the civic. I don't know.. before I got my civic I had been into hotrods, min trucks, etc. so I really love custom body work that sets your car apart from every other civic on the road. Granted people have different opinions on what sets a car apart (ie: by either adding body kits, lips, wings, or whatever). IMO I like the RSX conversion, but it's all up to you...it's your car! Some people will like what you do and there's always gonna be someone who hates what you do, but either way I think you'll get props for the effort you put into it no matter whether people like it or hate it. Just my 2 cents.

I dont want to come off as hating or anything it is just my opinion, you can put what ever front end you want on any car but it boils down to if you like the looks of another car then go and buy that car.

JDEF

Yesh i wasn't trying to imply that you were hating just stating my opinion which happens to be different than yours. It's cool different people like different things ya know...plus that RSX front end is a hell of a lot cheaper than an actual RSX. :)

I used the front end off a 96 integra and i have a 90 civic and I got my body lines to match almost near perfect. Its not that I want an integra so I did a conversion instead, its about being a tuner and doing what you like to make your car stand out from the rest. When you own a civic, you have to do some outragous stuff to be able stand out from the rest of the civic world. My buddy and I had a donor integra sitting around so we just did the conversion and dash conversion. But each their own.

I agree w/ JDEF. Go for it, if that's what you wanna do! That's what sets your car apart from everyone elses, individuality!!! I know every car owner prolly hates seeing someone drive by with the same sh*t they got. But I also agree w/ the other guys...ya can't just have the looks w/out the kick-*ss motor to go along with it! GO FOR IT!!!

i say go for it. its your car. i always get mad when my buddies check my car out and start telling me what would make it look better. i have never seen a civic/rsx before. i think it would be sick. if you do it definently post some pics.

Like I said not many will like my opinion on the matter, but to point out what I was saying is your car has a rounded off teg front end and a squared off hatch rear end. I'm not trying to piss anyone off it's just my opinion. Plus I would rather spend money on putting what is in the RSX's engine bay in my car rather than the front end.

well once the skyline tails go in the rear end will be rounded off a lil more but not much and I'm also working on the engine bay now with the new power plant.

The front end conversion cost and the dash conversion cost me I think maybe $50 and that was just for fiberglass for the fenders and maybe some other little odds and ends stuff I might of had to pick up. We did all the work ourselves and had a donor car for all the parts.
