Not really but still a kill. It was my friends V8 F150. He were on the highway and we were doing about 56 and I did the whole point back and forth thing and he shrugged his shoulders so I did a 1.2.3 countdown then floored it. I started to pull almost immediately and it only go tbetter as 3rd revved higher. I hit my brakes at like 75 ish and he slowed down too. It was great cause he didn't think the 1.6 liter could get his "monster v8" I thought he would actually take me but I did it. It would have been better from like 40 mph so I oculd have been in 2nd but it still worked out.

i have never had any trouble with any v8 trucks other than the lightning. good kill though. i love to see v8 people realize that 4 cylinders can be fast. dont get me wrong though, dollar for dollar a v8 will be faster

Yeah his truck is prolly really heavy too cause it is a long bed and a extended cab. But still I am the King of Speed lol.

whats wrong with you people, its a ford truck! Come on, that was a win win situation. I cant believe you would even think that that pick up would take you, and then actually race one to find out.

Well a stock civic isn't exactly fast.

seriously, the tranny's on most domestic trucks are geared low for towing... really, if there was an ally tranny in that sucker, it would be different. Comon, were arent talking about a V8 outa the 60's now.

I know, but if you're getting to the point of being over joyed after beating a truck in a race, and Im not talking about lightings or SS, then you need to get that rice out of your weins. I mean if you beat a V-6 stang, yea, Id consider that a good kill.

I am not like wearing a badge on my chest that says I bet an F-150 I was just sharing my happiness of making another friend sad. LOL And I know aobut the towing gearing. I also know about the gearing in a trans am. That thing flew.
Let me clarify that I am not trying to come in here and be like everyone throw money at me cause I beat a ford f 150. I am simply jsut sharing my attempt at a competition with another car.

a mildly modded civic should outrun most normal trucks, because at some point the aerodynamics takes over, which would greatly benefit the civic...
i was in my DD a while back and a guy that i have seen run mid 13s in a banks performance f250 came along side me and yelled somethign about me being a ricer...we both jumped on it, and he jumped out ahead of me, but never got away, and once we got over about 115, he just seemed to peter out...i didnt think that i was going to get around him, but i didnt want to get sooted!
off the line he would have killed me, but at higher speed the aero restrictions of the trucks are quite damaging to their cause...
on the other hand, had this had been a plightning, or an SRT10 Ram, it would be a bit more difficult...
either way, nice job...[8D]
