Aftermarket wiring, Best Buy best way to go?

Aftermarket wiring, Best Buy best way to go?
Alright so I just put new speakers all around but I still have my stock head unit in since I just got the car last week. My head unit I have from my last car is a Sony Explod. Wiring it to my Cavalier was no problem, just sodering and plug it in. When I bought the Civic I was told that that since the dome light keyless entry ran through the stereo I had to wire it to have them still run... I really wasn't listening 100%.
So while I was at Best Buy getting my speakers, I asked the girl in the speaker department what I have to do to wire it. She tells me that they can't tell me how they do it, the only way is to bring it in and have them wire it for $55. Plus I will still have to buy the plastic kit and whatever else, so I'll probably be spending $100 to have in installed.
So my question is, is there anyway I can do this "wiring" myself? I don't see why it wouldn't run through a normal wiring harness but I don't know complex stereo stuff or wiring. Any suggestions or how to do it would be nice, I'd love to save myself the $55 for something that is probably very simple. Thanks.

for the 96-98 you do have to keep the factory radio for the factory keyless entry. tho im not sure exactly how to do it off hand since i always get aftermarket keyless/alarm systems installed.
dont know about you buy id rather pay alittle extra and get a nice aftermarket alarm system installed.

Get the wiring harness meant for that car with keyless. It was really simple for mine, 1 plug goes to new radio, 1 to stock radio (that you tuck into the dash), and 1 goes to the stock wiring harness. Just solder stuff outside the car, easy peasy.

EDIT AGAIN: I did want to note that the actual installation of the stock radio inside the dash was a bit of a pain just because the harness isn't super long, and it is a tight fit if no one has ever been in that area since there are ties for stock wires that obstruct the area a bit.

Just as much of a fail as the rear speaker deck removal... so is it going to be tough to fit it under the dash? And if I were to take it to like Best Buy is that all they would do or would they actually wire it.
Why can't it be as simple as my Cav... a lot of soddering and snap it in and done lol
