throttle body on 98 civic LX
I was looking into a new throttle body for my civic LX. Mine is starting to stick a little at times and my CEL comes on and off at random. It is the one that the throttle opening stands straight up towards the hood. Is it wise to or has anyone installed a performance throttle body over a OEM one?? If so what kind and what are the results?

It probably sticks because it is dirty in there. Have you removed the intake set-up to look at the TB? Mine stuck a little when I first got my car. I took everything off, used some brakeleen and scrubbed it with a toothbrush. Problem solved.
If you are stock, then keep your stock TB. Only if you are boosted or if you have a built NA motor would a bigger TB be helpful. Otherwise, it won't help.

Ok, stock it is then. But I did clean it before putting it back & I put a little oil. It helped. With the cel on it idles at 1500++ rpms then down to about 700, then back up high. Autozone said (with the cel test meter) the "cat converter faulty". They want $300. Would you or anyone on this forum recommend the ebay manifold w/cat converter? the manifold has a slight crack in it anyway. Here is a link to the manifold I found: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33632

i bought some manifolds from the same company off ebay and they were good i saved the guy im workin on his engine alot of money. also when you do pull your old one off you can take it to the scarp yard and get like 30 or more $$ for it.
they buy from 30$ to 180$ for cat converters.
