OBDII motor into OBD0 car
so after doing my swap into my 96 ex coupe i have a perficly good d16 just sitting here and i've been playing with the idea of putting it into my beater car (87 civic hatch) just for the fun of it, and i have a cheap tubro manifold that will fit it and stock eclipse turbo and side mount intercooler i could put on it that i got from my friend and nobody would think expect it to be quick.has anyone ever tried a OBDII swap into a OBD0 car if so what kind of problems did you run into as far as wiring gose.

RE: OBDII motor into OBD0 car
i put my obd1 engine into my obd0 car, i had to modify the engine harness somewhat, convert it to mpfi add vtec, and i converted my car to obd 1. you could keep your car obd0 and use a chipped ecu to run vtec, or convert to obd1 with a conversion harness. it isn't worth the trouble to convert to obd2 because of all the extra wiring etc

RE: OBDII motor into OBD0 car
yeah on my 96 coupe i ent from OBDII to OBDIand everything went fine but i've never mesed with a OBD0 car as far as converting one or anything as far as the electronics but i think i'm going to get a friend that had a 90 hatch with a OBD0 b16 swap help me figure out the conversion when i deside to do it. which won't be till this spring when i finish school cause i'm useing it as a commuter car right now cause it's about 45 miles one way to school, and i'm trying to keep the miles down on my coupe

any obd 1 conversion is pretty easy and straight forward. i bought a conversion harness from www.boomslang.us and put it in in like 3 hours. or www.rywire.com can build you a full engine harness
