1992 honda civic dx (engine swap)
i am jut starting to rebuild my car. i have had it since i was 16. I DROVE I UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS GONE. I am now looking to swap the engine. i am looking at the d16z6 motor. it is 140 hp and have a quote for 775 shipped to where i live.
I also am looking at b16 second generation. the quote was 2900 with the entire swap. the motor alone was 1775. Also the h22 i have quoted for is 2400 for the entire swap with shipping. it has 200hp stock. what motor should i go with if i am going to boost it with about 7-10 psi and an intake.

d16z6
it seems like the more research i do the more i am drawn to the d series. it has less pwr but everyone that has it likes it. what is the most hp i can get out of this engine if i run 7-10 of boost from a greddy turbo kit with an intercooler. should i expect 200-215. if i add a intake and other 5 hp. 220 or so. i would really like 225-250 for he cheapest amount possible.

^ REEEEEESEARCH my friend.....
PSI doesnt matter. The size of the turbo matters. 7 PSI on a t25 is noting compared to 7 PSI on a big ol diesel turbo. With a medium sized turbo, 7 - 10 PSI could prolly get you up and over 200 hp. Intercoolers help, but once you're boosted, your turbo IS your intake, so to say you wanna add an intake to a turbo....well....that just doesnt make sense. If you want power, piece tgoether a kit, make it reliable, get it professionally tuned, and oyu'll be set.
but, before ANY of this happens, research your nuts off. Starting now. And never stop.

thanks FlipHKD720
i wasn't really sure. i been researching for like three hours today. i appreciate the help. my brother in law is the one that is going to help me install. he is the mechanic. i really don't know much about high performance parts. that is why i am trying to learn. just got into performance tuning and i like it. thank you for clarifying that for me. how big of a turbo could i have while still using internal parts of the engine.

that would prolly be a D16. i have 95 1.5L and mine is a D15. look on the Engine itself and you will see the code there. its not on the head its below it. look on the front or on the sides towards the front and you will see it

Hello,
I am new to this forum and I just received a 1995 Civic LX (4dr) with a busted tranny for free. I am looking into an entire engine and manual tranny swap since the car is currently automatic. I was looking at the B16A2 but I am new to hondas and im not really sure if this would work so any help would be great. Also if there is a better engine I should be looking to swap instead or that would work better, as i said any thoughts or info! please help!
Thanks
