You'll obviously need the B18b1 long block, a B-series transmission (you're right, the B16 transmission has the shortest gearing of any B-series transmission), and the ECU from a '96-'01 Integra LS. You'll also need B-series engine/transmission mounts (stock Integra mounts will work in a civic) and B-series axles (again, stock Integra parts will work). I believe the B18B1's engine wiring harness will work with your factory chassis harness, but given that you're going from a vtec engine to a non-vtec, you'll have a few extra wires in your chassis harness.

As far as I know, it's pretty much a drop-in swap. Be aware that depending on where you live, certain year model engines might be illegal to swap in (as a rule of thumb, the engine you install must be as new or newer than the car it goes into).

Okay let me make a note on here for you...

IF you use stock integra mounts in your civic instead of buying the mounts from innovative or hasport your valve cover will ding up your hood...

I currently have a dent in my hood from my valve cover :/

OK here it is. I have a 98 Civic Hx with a 99 B18B1 swap that I did myself on a budget. Here is a break down on the swap. First get the motor. Complete engine, trans, harness, ecu. You can uses 99-00 Si axles or 94-01 Integra axles. 99-00 Si or 94-01 Integra shifter linkage. Mount, you will use a mix of you stock mounts and 99-00 Si mounts. From a 99-00 Si you need the rear motor mount bracket and the driver side mount bracket, it is bolted to the block under the timing covers. Reuse all the Hx rubber mounts if good if not replace with new or 99-00 Si both work. Reuse the Hx upper trans mount bracket. If you want Ac then you need a B20 CRV AC bracket. If you want PS your motor should have come with the PS pump, use a 99-00 Si upper PS hose. You need a 94-01 Integra LS upper radiator hose and throttle cable. To make wiring a TON easier get a 96-00 Lx or Dx harness, the Hx has a 5 wire O2 and an EGR valve. The wire O2 is the big problem. As I said before use also need the harness from the B18B1, there are plugs you need off it. For all your wiring go to FF-squad.com. I went there for all my wiring needs, explains it so a 5 year old could do the wiring. All in all I got my motor swapped in for $1200 out the door plus 12 hours of my time.
