Please Help! 98 HX swap
Hey all! New here and been driving Hondas for quite some time but just recently became interested in tuning and swapping. I am currently in Afghanistan just waiting to get home to hopefully start on a swap. I currently drive a 98 Civic HX bone stock and actually super nice. I've been doing some research and getting advice on recommendations for different swaps. I'd like to run middle 12's to high 13's, N/A (If possible), and still be a drive around car. I've been reading a lot about the H2B swap. Seems like a reliable, yet powerful swap. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to all. God Bless

Only advice I can give is if you go H series, go h2b. I was cheap and went with the "normal h series swap (H22 trans) and I hated how much the axles would bind. Nothing I could do short of raising the car to stock height would stop the axles from shuttering the entire car at ~40mph or when hitting a dip in the road.

Well, thanks man. I appreciate the advice. Is that a b-16 trans. then? And what kind of fabrication and such would I have to do with this swap? A lot of guys have been telling me if I want like mid 13's, to go k-series, but I just can't justify the price. Haha

H2b is known as a K killer when both parties remain n/a
Any B series trans will work, except the old school b21 trans from the old preludes. B16 would be the shortest gears, meaning quickest accel, but would probably suck on longer highway drives. Many people will take a b16 trans and swap out the 5th gear from a b18 (integra ls motor trans) to lower the rpms on the highway.
Not much fabbing needed. Just the conversion kit, and a h2b header if i recall correctly.
