Engine identification?

So that's not a typical D15B head? Weird...what is the main determining factor of hp? Like if this engine does consist of parts from multiple engines, what is the important one?

actually the 90-93 accord oil cap is on the upper right corner of the valve cover. looks like someone got jipped with a d15b block and a non vtec head.

Not all JDM D15B's are VTEC. A lot of times, if a Civic needs a new engine, it's cheaper to get a used D15 from Japan and use it in place of the stock D15 or D16. They are essentially the same as the USDM engines but stamped JDM-style.

thats why i said almost

i dunno it has the same stamping as the accord and the spark plugs are on the back but the oil cap is in the wrong spot. its on the other side and further back on the accord.

My CRX has two numbers looks followed by 6a6.... I cant make out the first 2 it almost looks like 2 "I"'s I cant tell, would this be a 1600cc..? its a 1991

hey man.. i have the same engine in my car too. D15B engine code but its not a vtec. Plus mine is DPFI not MPFI. Its weird.
