My 2007 Civic EX rear passenger side window got smashed in a freak lightning accident. I had to put some packaging tape(NOT Duct tape) on a bag to close the window. Now the glue residue does not come off. Any way to remove this without damaging the paint?
Using the technique mentioned in this forum, what is the effect of GooGone on the car paint?

Try GooGone on a place of your car that doesn't show. If nothing happens it will be fine. I would use the GooGone and then try buffing around it it will go back to normal.

goo gone wont hurt your car's paint... it didnt on my civic or my new durango... its just some kind of citrus acid or something.
also before you start scraping at the adhesive with something that might hurt your paint, let some goo gone sit on the adhesive for a while then rub at it again. less risk of damage that way IMO
