Default Fuel Gauge?

Hey, does anyone with a 91 Hatchback know the approximate gallon measures on the Fuel Gauge? I'm trying to figure out how much gas I have left so I can get home... Its currently at a little (like 1/4") under the 1/4 tank mark so I'm curious if I'll have enough to get back home(approximately 24 miles, with hills involved..)

I just put 5 gallons in last weekend and am back to about where it was when I filled it and only done 124 miles so im gettin 24.8mpg...

At a little under a 1/4 tank anyone know how many gallons I have left, and whether I'll be ok to get back home (where gas is cheaper..)

You will be fine. Go home. If you are worried, just drive it nicely. You apparently only need one gallon if you are getting 24.8mpg.

Literally touching the "E", I have driven to work and back (45 miles) with no problems. I was tweaking the whole way home though

I am curious, how much of a price difference is this gas in order to warrant making a thread on a forum asking if you can get home or not? If you don't have any money on you and your wallet is at home, now that's a different story.

Cool thanks..

As for the your question: Gas at the station 1 mile away is $4.15 per gallon.. In town where I live 24 miles away its $3.95... 20 cents is a large difference in price to me since I'm a part timer and squeezing every cent I can out of a gallon of gas is essential to life...

So safe to assume 1/4 tank is at least a couple gallons?

I just wanted to make sure from those of you with experience that I'm not going to get stuck on the side of a highway that has narrow shoulders with log trucks whizzin past me at 60mph.. <.<

I think 88-91 Civics have something like an 11 gallon tank. 1/4 tank should be about 2.5 gallons. You should have no problems.

I remember the days of squeezing gas mileage in order to save a few bucks. Luckily, I work in Delaware so gas is a little cheaper out there compared to my area in PA.
