142000 on honda civic
Hello, I just bought this car and put a timing belt on it(old one broke due to previous owner didnt put washers on correctly on crankshaft(one washers dish side was facing inward tward belt).....Here is what I have done so far to make it run better. 1. replaced O2 sensor, replaced extremely worn plugs(had over 80 thousandths gap). cleaned pcv valve and replaced collapsed hose going from pcv to the intake plenum. replaced fuel filter with napa one. .Replaced air filter (I know, I shoulda got a k and n one) but anything had to be better than the one that was in there. I really havnt done too much else to the engine other than continual replacing of all the old hoses as I find them......distribudor cap looked fine as well as rotor, not sure about plug wires......they didnt seem to be arcing...water spray test still not done. I still need to check the catylitic converter too..............Basically I am just wanting to know if theres anything I have missed........as the engine does run ok

sounds like you're on the right track. definately check the cat, though. also, what year is it? if the engine's still running fine after a timing belt break, you're probably lucky you didn't end up with a blown engine.
beyond that, if you're just looking for a daily driver that's reliable, I would suggest looking further into the rest of the car. make sure the brakes, tires, suspension, exhaust, and electrical system are all in good shape.
good luck
