1989 1.6 Si
Hi - I'm new to the forum and have aquired a 1989 Si 1.6 for $500. It's a great car but I have a problem. It runs great - but after about 40 minutes of driving it shuts down. I pull off the side of the road and after a couple of minutes it starts right back up. It doesn't put out any codes. I replaced the ignition module and thought I had it fixed, but coming home from work it killed again after around 40 minutes - then after a couple minutes it started right back up with no problem. I'm not sure ifI posted this in the right forum - Hondas are new to me and I'm not sure evenwhat generation civic this is - any comments or advice would be appreciated. Thanks for any input.

RE: 1989 1.6 Si
After some more observation - I noticed that when turning the key to the full start position and thenletting the key deflect/fall back to the next key (run)position (which is when the engine dies) - I noticed that no dash lights at all are lit up. When I work the key slowly through the positions - intermittently the lights/power willcome on. I then roll the key forward to start againand only let it manually come back just alittle bit -- justenough to not re-engage the starter - and this thing runs fne. Has anyone had problems with the ignition switches - I'm leaning this way. Going to go buy a new ignition switch this afternoon and see if this solves it. If anyone thinks I'm on the right track orneed to look in another direction I would sure appreciate any way you can direct me to go. Thanks again - this is a great forum. Has anyone else run into this?
