1995 lx: direct-fuel or carburetor?

It does not have a carburetor. It has a multipoint fuel injection system similar to that used on almost all cars in the 1990s. It does not have the later "direct injection" type of system, but those work about the same as far as not needing to warm up before driving.
Car manufacturers stopped using carburetors as most countries tightened pollution standards during the 1980s. Carburetors tend to pollute excessively unless the system is made very complicated (see the last of the CVCC Civics for an example).
