I think my car is possessed! About 4 years ago I started having problems with the keyless remote. It would periodically take a vacation. When this happens, the initial warning is that with the car motor off and doors locked I'll find the dome light flashing. I'll use the key fob to unlock the car, then I'll get in and the doors will all lock when I close the driver's door. When I put the key into the ignition the horn starts honking as if I'd pushed the panic button on the fob. I can stop the honking by removing the key from the ignition or by turning the key to the ignition position. From then on the keyless remote will not work. I've had the key fob reset by the dealer numerous times, but within a week (sometimes it's just a few hours) the fob doesn't work anymore. I've changed out the radio and the key fobs to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem? Have you solved it, and if so, how?

 

I think there's also an antitheft control module under the dash. The radio just receives radio signals from the key fob and passes them to the antitheft module.

 

I never had the car alarm feature enabled. I don't know whether that means the module was never installed, or whether it was never activated.
