Default 1996 and newer civic problems you've had?

We all know hondas are very reliable cars and trucks.
I own a 2000 ex coupe 5-speed with 79,100 miles on her and no major problems yet.
Just curious for those of you with 1996 and newer civics what major problems you have had with your civs, or parts replaced other then maintenance parts.
I'm more curious about stock parts that have gone bad and not parts that have become bad due to modding problems, just curious.......................

I wouldnt worry much about it as long as you keep up on general maitenence procedures. Tune up once in a while, maybe some seafoam here and there, oil changes, and keep it clean. Once you get up around 95k or so, get the timing belt and water pump changed, and enjoy your car for another 200k miles

I had a strut go out, had to replace that. Cupped the old tires I had, but I needed new anyway so it dosen't count.

Stock exhaust manifolds are prone to small cracks that open up when they're cold. Had that replaced and it turned into a snowball after that because of the crappy work the shop did. I would have replaced it myself, but I didn't have any time to do it. The cat got a bunch of gunk in it when that shop goofed the new manifold and broke the o2 sensor. Then they left TIG wire sticking out off the pipe they patched (after they bashed a hole it it) which ripped up the CV boot and killed my axle. Asshats. They didn't even put all the bolts back in the manifold and downpipe when they replaced it! Most were missing and ALL were loose! Now, on top of the new manifold, o2 sensor, and axle, I have to get a new cat. Good aftermarket parts are just as expensive as new stock parts...time for a high-flow! It will end up costing me about a grand in the end to fix what they broke.

I've had some grounding issues with my electrical system. It causes some flicking dimming on the headlights even at freeway speeds. It's an absolute nightmare to figure out what ground is messed up. I'm still stumped on that one. It didn't do that before the manifold swap by the ****ty shop. Hmmmm...

The metal can dent easily...especially if you have a drunken 200 pound girl get up on top of your car to **** on your sunroof. That was a good grand shot to hell. The car sat while I saved all fall and most of winter.

Anybody have any questions now about why my car is STILL mostly stock? Just think of what I could have done with that two grand!!! I've had the Civic since last summer and all of this has happened since I bought it in August. It sat for three months + while I saved to get the body work done. Then I had to borrow and work for the other repairs.

Beyond all of that, regular stuff like what Forty04 said.
