RE: 40.62 mpg
It's a four-door sedan with a five-speed manual.
I have ac and side airbags. Everything else is manual, including the windows. I have AM and FM, but no CD or tape. A real basic stripper.
Now all I have to do is pull out all of the carpeting.....

my best tank i ever recorded was 37.25 after i just swappped in my z6 and was driving it real hard and fast all the time with a tps and o2 sensor code. my best recorded on my civic stock was 36.5.
conclusion - Dual point fuel injection sucks ***
i never got a new record yet driving nice and easy because my speedo broke for a while so i will soon have a new record because its fixed

Yeah i was getting around stock recorded 38 MPG right after i installed I/H/E on my 99 hatch.. but that was before i was driving it really hard.. since no tach in DX model have no idea what i had the RPM'S at.. so the more times i drove while drunk the more ballsy i got as to how high i could rev.. till i found the rev limiter.. then just had to guess where i was based off of sound

Yea, we're paying between $3-$3.19 here in the D.C. metro area. Funny, though, I was down in southern Virginia this weekend and it was only $2.80 a gallon--so I filled up my Ford Explorer! Didn't have my civic with me, but I did do a long highway cruise on the tank of gas I have in it now (about 280 miles) so I'll see how it turns out in a day or two--I still have a half tank left.
