93 Vtec question

Default 93 Vtec question

Might be a stupid question but can i put a vtec controller on a d16 with vtec? I want to hear my vtec kick in, i rode in my buddies integ and his vtec opens up at higher rmp and you can hear it good. New to civics and trying to see what i can do thanks

yeah, but it's just money down the drain. Anyways, it won't make your vtec sound any lounder.

its possible that your friends VTEC was louder because he may of had a twin cam engine, ask him/her....

Yea he has a b18obd2 gsr motor. I thought that might have a lil dif. I just got done with my twin loop exhaust because i keep getting pulled over, I also cleaned up the motor and threw on some new corner lights. Depending if i keep the car i want a b18 gsr motor in it. But in need to do a lot of research and see the best setup thanks

any b-series (or h-,f-, or k-series) will give you a louder vtec. It's because they're dohc compared to your sohc. And a vtec controller is wasted money on most cars.

or get a SRI..... i can hear and feel my vtec kick in on my 94 Z6motor BUT i try not to kick it in that much to try and get the best milage........

also depends on tranny.LOL my 99s auto tranny the car feels kinda slow until the Vtec kicks in.... but my 94 manual feels much beter!

i hope to get my new cluster quickly so i can actualy see my MPG

the single cam motors vtec will not kick in too loud.... if anything, you could upgrade the camshaft.... so the vtec lobes are a bit bigger... then the vtec will be louder... and your car would be considerably faster

Is your odometer busted or something?

Honda set your Vtec to kick in where it does for a reason. Don't mess with it.
