Default 94 Civic Si HP?

Hello, I was wondering if you might be able to give me an estimate amount of the amount of HP my car is running? Here are the specs D16Z6 V-Tec 1.6L With Headers, and a spectre air intake, its an auto (hoping to find a good manual tranny to swap out) thats what i have now, im also adding a s100 Hondata soon would that help the HP any? Thanks

Here are the results of my D16Z6 that is in my '95 EX. Same motor as yours, but mine is a manual with AEM SRI, DC Sports 4-2-1 header, Magnaflow exhaust and Exedy Stage1 clutch/lightweight flywheel.

This is my first dyno with my original ~210k mile motor. Made 93whp @ 6400-6800rpm and 79wtq @ 5800.

Then I later swapped the motor for a lower mileage (~100k miles) motor, everything else being exactly the same. This new one made 96whp and 82wtq. Only 3whp and 3 wtq at peak gain from my old motor. The biggest difference is bottom end though. At 2400rpm there is a 6wtq gain and at 3400-3600rpm there is a 4wtq gain.

Max WHP is at 6400-6800 RPM and max WTQ is at 4800RPM

This Dyno is known to read about 15% lower than others. My friend held a dyno day to come up with this 15% number. So in reality, the old motor made about 107whp & 91wtq and this "new" motor made about 110whp and 94wtq.

Your car with less mods and also being an automatic, I'd say you're making a few less hp. Maybe around 105whp MAX depending on the condition of your motor. Nothing to boast about for sure lol. If you ever want a good HP number, you're much better off swapping the motor than trying to build this one up..

WOW haha im new to cars in general so its going to be awile untill i get that speed but at somepoint im hoping to build mine up as well. the engine i just got has 93000 miles on it but it looks brand new so i wouldn't dought if it was lower. also i was told these engines hold up great and i have also been told they are horrible and not to run it alot or they will blow.... i got this engine because i dont want it to blow like my old D15 did

93,000 miles is nothing for these motors. Which is why I purchased a replacement motor that had ~100k miles on it. My original 211k mile motor was VERY good and still ran very smooth even when I pulled it. In the 16 years of that car being in my family, the last 6 of which the motor was beat on since I raced it, we have never had ANY issues with it. The only "major" things done were a couple of timing belts at 90k and 180k miles and a new clutch at around 180k. The only reason I replaced that motor was because I knew it was lacking power with it's old age and high mileage. Which turned out to be true when I dyno'd the new, lower mileage motor.

So long as you stick with the regular maintenance and keep an eye on things before they become bigger issues, that motor has the potential to last a few hundred thousand miles easily. I don't know who the hell is telling you these motors are horrible and blow, they clearly don't know jack about them. The D16**, although pretty low on power, are one of the most solid and reliable motors out there for Hondas. Just take care of it and you shouldn't have any problems..

Ok thanks i acully think i might just swap for a H22 instead of really adding any more performance to the engine, but that wont be for awhile Thanks again i also have a tranny problem i think but ill put that in a new thread
