Drain Plug
I know it's a little late but I would make sure the power steering drain plug is securely tightened. It is located on the drivers-side steering rack boot (mine was facing up towards the engine.
One of my old mechanics left this slightly loosened. I figured it out as soon as I looked at it but to the untrained eye, it could appear to be a leak. Just check and make sure that it is tightened all of the way (to anyone else out there that has the same problem.

ECK! I had to have my Rack & Pinion replaced last Winter..it cost like $900 at Precision Auto Care & took a day & 1/2 to do(or maybe they were busy that day). I don't know what to suggestion for you man...But I have heard you put the rack together OUTSIDE the car then install it instead of just inside the car piece by piece.
Edit: Ok I was on the 1st page & didn't even look at the date....well that sucks..
