95 Civic random questions
so i got a few questions on my mind....feel free to answer some if not all of them. thanks.
1.My 95 dx coupe has 97k on it and i've done all regular scheduled maintence...it runs fine but i like to stay on top of my game. i just did a tune up and oil change....my water pump and timing belt were done last year around 85k....any other maintence that you think should be done?
2. the new type-r boasts something like 260hp...anyone know what type of engine that is?? k20? you think i can swap that into my whip? is the type-r coming over to the u.s. anytime soon?
3. i need to replace my stereo head unit..i live in hollywood and i don't want to do it my self....anyone know where i can go to get it done besides bestbuy?
thanks for your thoughts and comments!

RE: 95 Civic random questions
1) regular maintenance and you should be fine, if you havent changed the spark plugs i would do that, check the airfilter too
2) Dunno what engine is in the TypeR, but for the brand new one you would propbably be better off just buying a new car for the price of the engine since it is so new. And no no word on the TypeR comming to North America. We have the Si and i think that is the closest we are gonna get
As for 3 sorry i live in Canada, but if you get the proper equipment you can install a headunit yourself, very easy to do. Just be sure to get the adapter for the factory harness to ease things up.(if you still have the OEM harness connector

first things first props on the 1995 dx. i have a 1995 dx coupe =D. and uhh
you can always rotate your tires too =P....... i consider that a part of tune up haha. also changing all your fluids such as coolant etc.. isnt ever a bad idea

best buy is cool i just don't wanna pay installation fees for my whip....it cost almost the same price as the radio
a few more questions.......
when should an engine be rebuilt?
is it better to replace an engine than rebuild it?

RE: 95 Civic random questions
wow only 97k...lucky...ya just keep up with the regular maintenance thats in the owners manual and make sure all parts/fluids u use are quality brand name stuff. as for swapping a K into ur car, for what its worth, u might as well just buy another, faster, car...used k20a with tranny, ecu, harness, mounts, custom work, install time/costs, etc will run atleast $5k(thats like the bare minimum)..

RE: 95 Civic random questions
As previously said, just your regular maintenance and fluid changes. Change your tranny fluid and filter (auto), brake fluid, coolant, lube things up, check for torn boots, check for worn parts............You shouldn't even be thinking about a rebuild at this piont unless it's for more ponies, your engine will last quite a bit longer. In fact, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect 200,000 with all of the proper maintenace done regularly (probably even more).
