Question 96 civic manual trasmission

hey guys can anyone help me my first second and third gear sound like if the trany was running dry i checked the manual transmission gear lube and its a the level it should be its like a weird sound when i accelerate if i make it run in the first gear it sound and like press the gas on and relese it its get quiet fourth no sound and fifth gear quiet i live in puerto Rico everybody has a civic junk yards swear they sell new part, 500 buck for a 96 manual transmission and if i find someone that has one they be hittin these civic hard like their is no 2morrow. Would apreciate any help before something goes wrong with it.

Does it make noise idling in neutral? The bearings on the ends of the input shaft (especially the one furthest from the engine) almost always go bad on D-series manuals. Maybe just cracking yours open and putting in a couple of new bearings would help.

Also Honda has a special fluid for manual transmissions, don't use heavy gear oil.
