99 eclipse GS auto vs. 95 civic ex 5 speed
I have a stock 95 civic ex 5 speed tranny and this kid i know has a stock 99 eclipse GS auto tranny. He thinks he can take me in a race i was just going to race him and embarrass him so he stops talking **** about hondas i know hondas arent that fast stock but i am pretty sure i can beat a stock automatic eclipse. But i was looking for a second opinion.

Well you're 125BHP with FWD, and he's 140BHP with FWD. He's gonna weigh a little more, so that will help you, but he's gonna lose a ton more power through the drivetrain. If you can drive worth sh*t then you should beat him by a little.
Anyway, don't do this on the street.
Also, racing a stock Civic against a stock lower trim level Eclipse is somewhat retarded. I think even if you race him and win, it's pretty embarrassing to both of you. lol

What's with all these "stock ------ vs. ---- civic" threads lately? So someone's talking s**t on hondas. What's new? Are you guys going to race and "put in their place" everyone that says hondas are slow?

Honda's are slow, for the most part. Get over it and realize that unless you drop 2 grand or so, you will be winning very few races.
Just go race him and find out for yourself. Like we know all the variables
Sorry, but this is like the 3rd or 4th thread like this in the last week.....

Woohoo! $1300 for I/H/E on a d-series and you gain 10whp if you're lucky.
Bigger engines tend to respond to bolt-ons better. And no offense to anyone (I love civics, I'm just being realistic here), but hondas (for the most part) are slow. To make them respectable, you have to d**m near spend what you paid for the car in mods, and even then half the things people do to these cars don't do anything for power (I'm sorry, plugs and wires do nothing, nor do ground wires, voltage stabilizers, tornados, turbonators, etc).
*edit: I just did the math. I/H/E was $800 for the mustang... I love having a car with a cheap aftermarket (kind of) lol

P.S. Your Mustang/Honda bias has really been shining through the past couple of days. I'm starting to get tired of hearing about it, no offense.
We all understand that your Mustang is faster than most Civics on this site. But do you really have to tell us that every time you post?
And no, I'm not asking you to leave, so don't take it that way.
