Dude.. lol.
The best bang for your buck would be an eBay pipe with a k&n filter.IMO
get the v2. Just don't drive into lakes and you'll probably be ok

I hope you know that the only diference betwen the AEM brand and eBay intake TUBES is that Aem has the carb legal sticker, and that is basically the only reason it's 300 bucks..

Just buy a short ram. You won't have to worry about the water, and using a bypass valve on a CAI basically cancels out the benefits of having one over a short ram. Your chances of hydrolocking with CAI are low anyway, unless you plan on driving idiotically through big puddles. But if you go with a short ram, just get an AEM one. They're on ebay for $100 shipped, which is about $20 more than you'd pay total for a cheapo ebay intake and a name brand filter. And out of that $20, you get the brand name (not that important), better quality coupler, nicer looking piping, nicer looking and more firm mounting bracket, and the piping is approx. the same diameter as the throttle body. With ebay intakes you usually get oversized piping which requires a reducer coupler, which actually decreases intake velocity because the intake pipe has more internal volume.

EDIT: mitch beat me to the post but you get the idea.

I have the AEM v2 CAI. It is better then the regular cai, I love it. i never had a regular cai intake so i couldnt tell you the difference. You CANNOT put a bypass valve on them, then dont fit, because of the larger dual chamber.
Though i support it, and have it, i will say, just liek eveyrone else. go for ebay CAI with a aem dryflow filter. or a k&n. I mean if you can find a deal on a used one, go for it.

my dirty bay, excuse the winter salt, lol.
