Default Alright, New engine or Continue on the ZC

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but i wanted a poll. Mods/admins close it or move it if you feel its misplaced. I need some opinions on this because almost 6 months after this swap im still not driving my car.

Here is the story, if you already know it skip over this

Bought the engine in november
Gatthered necessary parts and assembled through december
Pulled engine, rewired car and dropped in engine in janurary
Car didnt start. Tried redoing timing, new injectors, new rotor
Mid Feburary took it to the mechaninc where he found out that the crank gear had 2 too many teeth.
Hunted down a crank gear. finally got it in march
Car was home and started early march.
The car was still smoking so work started on trying to get that to stop.
Compression test got 180 160 160 180 so we figured the gasket was bad in the center.
Replaced the gasket with no effect (still smoked)
Ordered a new head that was port and polished for a $100 dollars but was discribed wrong and was actually an integra head
Took the head off and had it resurfaced and pressure tested. Valves and valve guides were good.
Ordered ARP Headstuds
Tried another head gasket (still smoked)
Decided that a OEM MLS gasket might be better than felpro
Pulled engine, dismantled block and had the block decked
Bought a Acura OEM head gasket
Re asembled block put back in the car.

And i start it up yestuday...still smokes

So here is where I am. I can take it to a mechaninc and see if they can fix it, or I can hitch a ride down to LA with a friend and pick up a SOHC ZC engine for $425.

Let me know what you think. And if you think you know what the problem is, let me know! Im now starting to think it needs to be bored, honed, and new pistons,rings,bearings,rods...the works. Thats the only think i can think of. If the valves are good the pistons might be bad.

I say fix the DOHC. You're already this far into it, so why not go all the way? If you have to bore/hone etc. then you can build the bottom end and go for a sweet all motor zc and/or be set up for a turbo down the road when you want even more power.

$0.02

thats what i kept telling my self when this happend the first time..and the 2nd time..just a little more money and then a sweet engine. just disasemble the block and get it recurfaced. bla bla bla..

done and done..just placed an order with nippon motors, SOHC zc $650 shipped will be here next week. 10 less hp for 200 dollars less than the DOHC zc...and apparntly it has a little more torque from what ive read...

Anyone wanna buy a dohc zc?
