Hi,

I知 about to change oil in my Civic (2010, LX) and I知 not sure if should I change not only oil but also filter. If yes, is it (http://www.partstrain.com/store/deta...EC0440382.html) or should I buy other?

 

if the filter is external and fairly cheap then yes also replace the the filter because its better safe then sorry.

 

That looks like a generic add-on filter. On older models anyway, the OEM filter was deep inside the transmission and requires removing the transmission from the car and taking it apart to replace. Thus the PM is merely to drain and refill the fluid.

 

yeah thats like i said if its external not internal then it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it .the older models wouldn't allow you to replace the filter which i hope honda realised was a bad mistake.

 

The 2010 civic has a transmission filter but is a pretty big pain to get at. Honda does not recommend an interval for replacing it. I would just keep the transmission fluid clean by doing a drain and fill every 30,000 miles. If its been a while since the last drain and fill then you can do multiple drain/fills back to back (I would wait at least a day in between so the fluid is thoroughly mixed).
