Bad Fuel Economoy On New Civic? What!?

and see alot of people are only getting (20 - 25 mpg) with their new civics? Is there a break in period or something because that's pretty damn low.

A new engines cylinders are not honed super smooth. In fact there are micro ridges that create friction. These ridges wear down during the course of break in and result in less friction within the motor.

On my LX MT, I've never gotten less than 34 mpg, and it's usually 35 or slightly higher. This is on a 65/35 city/hghwy mix and shifting pretty strictly at 3k. It's been that way since my first tank...
