Default best Civic for Auto-X or Time Attack?

I'm looking at buying a Civic or CRX for Auto-X or Time Attack. Cars I'm considering are a '90 Civic, a '95 Civic CX or a '91 CRX Si. Any thoughts which would be the best for Auto-X or TA? '90 Civic is cheapest, '91 CRX Si is most expensive. All are completely stock.

The '89 Civic Si has undoubtedly become one of the best autox cars to own. I say the '89 specifically because it is a little lighter then say the '91 Si even though it's the same generation. They are very light, have a short wheel base, low COG, great suspension design and are able to do incredibly well if properly setup and with a good driver. I race my friends '91 Civic Si and I have done extremely well with it. We've nicknamed it the "money maker" for good reason lol.

The CRX Si is also a great car. Very similar to the '89 Civic Si but even lighter. The '95 CX is also good but for what it's worth, the older Civic/CRX Si's are a better platform to begin with.

If you get a 4th gen Civic or a CRX, get the Si model.

Thanks Civicexracer for your comments! The '90 Civic DX that I've found has 77k miles, the '95 Civic CX 67k miles and the '91 CRX Si 116k miles.

My first choice would be a 4th gen Civic Si or the CRX, but I'm tempted by one of the two Civics only because they're available now, and because of their low mileage.

The '95 CX has the D15B8 8-valve engine (70 hp @ 5000 RPM), while the '90 DX has the 16-valve engine (92 hp @ 6000 RPM), making me think that the '90 DX might be preferable, choosing between the two Civics.

I might have to just keep searching for an Si!

If you're planning on keeping the original motors in them and racing, then I'd say it would be worth the wait to find an Si model for any of those cars. 116k miles on a '91 CRX is incredibly good. That's still just broken in!!! If the body is in good shape (careful with rust on the fenders and under the rocker panels) and if the price is right, I'd jump on that in a heart beat.
