im gonna do a poll once i get some good specifics. and i mean one particular part. if you could only buy one thing, exactly what would it be? whether its for power, handling, whatever. but its the first thing someone will buy to start fixing up their car.

I say a set of coilovers and shocks...I love my dropzones and they were only 300 shipping included...all four corners

On the other hand I bought this set because I needed new shocks anyway...if I didn't, I would have bought I/H/E first. Depends on the car itself.

Well a short shifter is not really so important. I could probably shift as fast with the old one. And bushings...not a good first mod...you want to FEEL HARD your first mod...it's encouraging:-D

I have to say, my short shifter is one of my favorite things about my car. Performance is just as SUBjective as it is OBjective. Meaning if it feels better/more fun/faster then it will be. To the subject anyway.

I just got a cheapo one. Best 20 bucks I have spent on my car so far.

I learned to drive stick with my short shifter.
A friend loaned me his '02 civic for a day, it had the stock shifter, and I was like, WTF is this? It felt totally different and bad.

To me it made little difference. I guess I've driven too many trucks and got used to their looong shifts.

I'll let you guys in on a little secret that I came across back when I got my first 4G hatch (I was 13...). Take a hacksaw to your shifter... it works just as good as an aftermarket short shifter, and it'll only set you back as much as it takes to buy a new shift **** that fits.

Oh, and don't even think about raising the rice flag on this one until you try it out. Ignorance is bliss.
