Default Buying first Civic

Hi all! I'm in the closing stages of deciding on my first Civic, and have a few questions for those who know the car best...

* Why pick a Civic over the Accord? and...

* What can I expect from my Civic 10 years from now (assuming good maintenance practice)?

The excitement is building. This is going to be fun.

Thanks all.

The civic gets better gas mileage

your civic (depending one what year) will last you a loong time if you do proper maintenance.

Make sure you're aware of honda-cancer, it's rust forming in the quarter panels. When you get your civic take the rubber lining inside the wheel well out (should just be able to pull out)

Not sure which year he's talking about getting, but hasn't Honda fixed that problem in their cars by now? Wouldn't the new cars not have that problem anymore? Just wondering...

Also, the Accord's VTEC is made more for fuel economy, but the civic's VTEC is made more for some extra performance. Even though the Accord's VTEC is for fuel economy, the Civic still has better gas mileage.

And, in 10 years, most importantly, you can expect it to still run good, as long as you take care of it.

Did you take gas prices into the calculation? and how is it cheaper? if the accord is more expensive and a more upscale model
