Buying a HONDA CIVIC 97 - Good or trashy deal? Pics included!
$2500.
2 cm rust spot on each rear wheel (paint blemish).
Timing belt replaced.
4 brand new snow tires (non studded - I plain to use them all year round)
driver side rear door doesn't open (said easy cheap fix?).
119,000 Miles.
Some minor dings and scrapes (it's a 97).
1 decent ding on front fender (looks like someone opened another car door into it - look at 3rd pic).
4 cig burn holes
Honda Civic LX 1997

Whether its a good or bad deal depends on why you're buying it.
Project car? Boost project? Daily driver?
It's got the beginnings of Honda Cancer (the rust on the rear fenders), but for $2500, seems like a decent deal. Body isn't in bad shape. Has it been wrecked? It might just be the pictures, but the paint on the hood looks like its got the "orange peel" paintjob.
As long as the engine is in good shape, I'd say nice find.
